Olive Branch butterfly abaya piece by piece

The butterfly abaya is cut wide, with the sleeves and body in one, so it falls in soft folds from the shoulders and drapes at the sides. It closes at a round neck and pulls on over the head, and it is roomy and cool to wear. Olive branches trail along the embroidery in soft gold, a quiet, earthy match for the olive green. Choose nida, crepe or chiffon, and hand, machine or mixed embroidery, all for the same price, and it comes with a matching scarf.

Is the embroidery done by hand or by machine?

You choose: hand, machine or mixed, all at the same price. Pick it on the order form, or leave it blank and we suggest what suits your fabric.

Are these photos of the finished abaya?

No. The images are design previews, made to show the cut, colour and embroidery before the piece is sewn. Your abaya is made to the details agreed in your quote, and because it is sewn and embroidered for you, the finished piece can differ slightly from the preview. If you would like a photo of your piece before it is sent, ask us.

How loose is the butterfly abaya?

Very. The sleeves and body are cut in one wide piece, so it drapes rather than fits. Choose your usual size, or send your measurements and we cut the width and length for you.

Will the colour look exactly like the photo?

Colours can look a little different from the photos. Lighting, the camera and your own screen all change how a shade appears, so the finished piece may be slightly lighter, darker or warmer than it looks here. If the exact shade matters to you, ask us before you pay.
