You measure at home with our guide, or measure a dress that already fits you, and we check every figure against your design before cutting. Made to measure, explained
Ordering made to measure online works because a dress needs only a handful of numbers, and you can take them at home with a soft tape and, ideally, someone to help with the shoulder and the length. Write them down in centimetres or inches, whichever you are used to.
Some measurements are of your body, others are of a garment. Both work, as long as you tell us which is which. Our guide to body vs garment measurements explains the difference.

If you are long in the body, short in the leg, fuller at the hip than the bust or simply between sizes, send your own numbers instead, and the written quote shows which you chose.
Size charts vs made to measure →Petite customers often find the waist seam sits too low and the sleeves cover the hands. Tall customers find the opposite, with the hem and cuffs too short. Made to measure moves each of these to where your body needs them. For a plus size dress, the bust, waist and hip are cut to your numbers rather than graded up from a small pattern, so the shoulders still fit.

A fitted bodice needs an accurate bust and waist, and a floor-length skirt needs the length taken in the exact shoes you will wear. Tell us if you want room to sit comfortably at dinner, and we allow for it. See our modest dresses for evening designs with sleeves.

Use a soft tape over light clothing and stand naturally. Take your bust, waist, hip, shoulder, arm length and upper arm, then the length from the shoulder to where you want the hem, wearing the shoes you plan to wear. Our dress measuring guide shows each one.
Then made to measure is the easier choice, because nothing is rounded to a size. Each measurement is used as it is, so a dress can be one size at the bust and another at the hip.
Yes. Lay the dress flat, measure across the chest, waist and hip, and the length and sleeve, and tell us they are garment measurements. We use them as the starting point and ask about anything we need to adjust for your design.
No wedding dresses at present. A bridal abaya is the only piece we make for your own wedding day; see custom abayas. Guest dresses for a nikah, mehndi or walima are cut to measure like any other.
Making takes 5 to 7 working days after you approve and pay for your quote, and the courier journey to the UK follows. Import VAT, duty and courier fees are already in the quoted total, so the parcel arrives with nothing to pay.
Yes, before cutting. Anything can change before you approve your quote, and small changes before cutting are usually straightforward. If you cancel after paying, tell us straight away. Before your fabric is cut, we refund what you paid, minus the cost of any fabric we have already bought for your order. With Stitching Only the fabric is yours, so nothing is taken off for it. Once cutting has started, the piece is being made for you alone, so cancelling at that stage is not refunded. Because every piece is made to order, a change of mind is not eligible for a return or refund.
If your outfit doesn’t match the measurements or design agreed in your quote, that’s our mistake to put right: we correct it or remake it without charging for the work. Tell us within 7 days of your parcel arriving, with photos. You pay the postage to send it back to us and for the corrected piece to come back to you. Because every piece is made to the measurements and design agreed in writing, please check those carefully before you approve your quote.
