Can I order just one suit?
Yes. Our minimum order is one suit, made according to your agreed measurements and design. If you want several outfits, list them on one quote request and we quote them together.
Do you offer free samples?
No. We do not offer free samples. With Fabric + Stitching, we share photos and descriptions of the fabric with your quote, and the fabric is agreed with you before anything is cut.
Can I supply my own fabric?
Yes, subject to fabric suitability and sufficient quantity. Contact us to confirm the fabric and shipping arrangements before sending it. This is our Stitching Only service: you send the fabric or unstitched suit to us in Pakistan, and we ship the finished outfit to you.
Where are the garments made?
Our garments are made in Pakistan and shipped internationally. We have no shop, studio or fitting service outside Pakistan, so every order is arranged online and delivered to you.
What does The Gilded Seam do?
The Gilded Seam makes women’s clothing to each customer’s own measurements. We make three-piece and two-piece shalwar kameez, kurtas and kameez, co-ords, Eid outfits, casual party wear and Western pieces such as dresses, skirts, tops and trousers, in Pakistan, for customers in the UK, the USA and Europe.
What is the difference between Fabric + Stitching and Stitching Only?
With Fabric + Stitching we supply the agreed fabric and make the outfit; with Stitching Only you supply suitable fabric and we cut, stitch and finish it. Fabric + Stitching reaches you in one parcel from Pakistan. Stitching Only has two shipping stages: you send your fabric to us in Pakistan, then we ship the finished outfit to you.
Which countries do you deliver to?
We deliver to customers in the UK, the USA and Europe, including Italy. Each has its own page on this site explaining delivery and import charges there. If you live somewhere else, ask us before you order and we will tell you whether we can deliver to you.
How do I get a price?
Request a quote and we send you a written quote. Tell us your country, the garment, the quantity and the service option you want, and upload design images. UK quotes are in pounds sterling (GBP); in the USA and Europe you choose US dollars, euros or pounds, and the quote is written in that currency. There are no published prices, because every outfit is quoted individually.
How do I send my measurements?
You enter them on the quote form, in centimetres or inches. Our size guide shows where to measure each one, and your measurements and design details are agreed with you in writing before anything is cut.
How long does an order take, and what does shipping cost?
Production time and shipping costs are both confirmed in your written quote, before you commit to anything. Shipping is part of the price you pay: your quote includes delivery to your address and any import duties and taxes, so there is nothing extra to pay when your parcel arrives. Production time and shipping depend on the garment, the quantity and where you live, so tell us if you need your order by a particular date. We do not guarantee delivery dates.
Who pays import charges?
Your written quote includes delivery and any import duties, taxes and customs fees, so there is nothing extra to pay when your parcel arrives. The official rules differ between the UK, the USA and European countries, and our country pages summarise them for each. If a courier ever asks you for payment on delivery, contact us before paying anything.
Do you make bridal wear, menswear or childrenswear?
No. We make women’s clothing only, and we do not make bridal wear. Our range covers everyday wear, workwear, Eid outfits and casual party wear.
Can you add embroidery to my outfit?
Yes, as embellishment on an outfit we are stitching. Light thread work, lace or a border at the neckline, sleeves, hem or dupatta can be planned and quoted with the outfit. We do not offer embroidery or patches on their own.
Do you have a shop I can visit?
No. We do not have a shop, studio or fitting service you can visit: everything is arranged online, and your outfit is made in Pakistan and delivered to you.
How do I pay?
UK customers pay in pounds sterling (GBP). Customers in the USA and Europe choose US dollars (USD), euros (EUR) or pounds sterling (GBP), and the quote is written in that currency. Your written quote explains how and when to pay before you approve your order.
What if something isn’t right?
Contact us as soon as your order arrives, with photos, so we can look at it with you. How a fault is dealt with, and any time limit for telling us, is set out in your written quote. Because every piece is made to the measurements and design agreed in writing, please check those carefully before you approve them.
Can I send a picture of what I want?
Yes. The quote form lets you upload design images, screenshots, sketches and fabric photos, and reference images help us quote accurately.
Are the photos on this site your own work?
Not yet. Photos marked “Inspiration” are licensed stock images that show the style we work in. Photos of pieces we have made are added as they are made, and are never labelled as inspiration.
