What to do if your outfit does not match your order
What to do if a made-to-measure outfit does not match the agreed measurements or design: how to check it, what counts as our mistake and how to report it in time.
InspirationIf we got it wrong, here is what happens
If your outfit does not match the measurements or design agreed in your written quote, that is our mistake, and we correct it or remake it without charge for the work. Tell us within seven days of delivery, with photos and the measurements of the garment. You pay the postage both ways: sending the garment back to us in Pakistan, and having it returned to you.
This article explains how to check the outfit, what counts as a mistake on our side, and how to report it so it can be put right as smoothly as possible.
First, check it against your written quote
Your written quote is the record of what was agreed: the design, the fabric, every measurement and any customisation. Have it open when you try the outfit on, and wear the shoes and the layers you planned to wear with it.
If something feels wrong, measure the garment itself, laid flat, and compare it with the quote. Remember that a garment should measure larger than your body at the bust, waist and hips, because it includes room to move; our guide to body vs garment measurements explains how much to expect. Lengths, such as the kameez, sleeves and trousers, can be compared more directly.
What counts as our mistake
Our policy covers an outfit that does not match what was agreed. For example:
- A length, width or other measurement that differs from the agreed number.
- A design detail that is not as agreed, such as a different neckline, sleeve style or trouser style.
What is not a fault
Some things are not covered, and it is fairer to say so plainly. A slight difference in shade from a photo is not a fault: colours can look a little different because of lighting, cameras and screens. Nor is a garment made exactly to the agreed measurements that you would now like different, or one that fits differently because your measurements have changed since you sent them, or because a number you sent was taken incorrectly.
That is why checking your numbers before you approve the quote matters so much; our guide to checking your measurements before you send them walks through it. If you would like a new piece made to different measurements, we can quote it as a new order.
How to report it
Contact us within seven days of delivery. To help us look into it quickly, include:
- Your name and order details, as shown on your quote.
- What does not match: which measurement or design detail, and what was agreed.
- Photos of the outfit worn, from the front, side and back, so we can see how it sits.
- Photos of the garment laid flat with a tape measure across the point in question, showing the number.
What happens next
We compare what you send with the written record of your order. If the outfit does not match what was agreed, we tell you whether we will correct it or remake it, and confirm how to send it back to us before you post anything, just as we would confirm the arrangements for fabric. The work itself is free of charge; the postage to Pakistan and back to you is paid by you.
The terms are also set out on our payment and cancellations page, and the worldwide delivery guide explains shipping. Whether you ordered from the UK or anywhere else, the policy is the same. For your next order, start with the quote form or read the custom stitching page.
Common questions
How long do I have to report a problem with my outfit?
Seven days from delivery. Contact us within that time with photos of the outfit and the measurements of the garment, and say which measurement or design detail does not match your quote.
Who pays for postage if the outfit needs to be corrected?
You pay the postage both ways, sending the garment back to us in Pakistan and having it returned. The correction or remake itself is done without charge for the work when the mistake is ours.
Is a slightly different colour a fault?
No. Colours can look a little different from photos because of lighting, cameras and screens, so a small difference in shade is not a fault.
What if the measurements I sent were wrong?
The outfit is made to the measurements agreed in your written quote, so it is not treated as our mistake. If you would like a new piece made to corrected measurements, we can quote it as a new order.
