A guest outfit has a narrow job. It should show you made an effort for the day and still leave every eye on the couple and their families. The iris and rosebud designs manage that because their embroidery is soft in colour: blue irises on silver-green stems against navy, and pink rosebuds on a cream vine against dusty mauve. Neither reads as white, red or heavy gold in a photograph.
If you know the family’s colours or theme, check them first. Ivory is lovely but worth asking about before a nikah, since pale shades are now a common choice for the main outfit; our guide on wearing white to a nikah covers this. Burgundy reads as wine rather than red, but in families who keep red for the big day, navy or chocolate brown is the safer pick.

Most weddings are several gatherings, and your abaya can change with them. For a daytime nikah at home or in a mosque, a closed and easy shape keeps you covered when you sit on the floor and stand again: the rosebud bell abaya, with its round neck and flared sleeves, or the iris layered abaya, whose two flared sleeve layers carry the embroidery.
Evening receptions and walimas are where the statement pieces earn their place. The cape abayas run embroidery along the edges of a short cape over the shoulders, which shows well across a table and in group photos. The pleated abayas have knife pleats in the side panels that move as you walk, with embroidery down the front edges and just above the pleated sleeve ends.

Most of these designs open at the front, namely the bisht, tulip, cape and pleated shapes, so they can go over something more formal, such as an embroidered kameez and trousers or a full-length party dress. The abaya covers you on the way in and out, and you decide how much of the outfit underneath shows once you are seated.
Length matters more at a wedding than on an ordinary day, because you will be in shoes you rarely wear. Send the length you want measured with those shoes on (see abaya length with shoes), or ask for the slightly shorter ankle-length hem, which keeps the edge clear of steps and stages. If the abaya will sit over another long outfit, say so in your request so the measurements we agree in the quote allow for it.

All three fabrics cost the same, so choose for the venue. Crepe has a fine grainy texture and enough weight to hang neatly through hours of sitting at a reception. Chiffon floats and looks soft in photographs, but it is slightly sheer, so a lining is worth adding under hall lights and camera flash. Nida, soft and matte, is comfortable for a daytime nikah at home.
The embroidery can be done by hand, by machine or a mix of both, again at one price. Hand stitching gives the iris petals and rosebuds a little depth, while machine stitching keeps long lines such as the arabesque scrolls sharp and even.

Yes. A dressier abaya suits a nikah, a mehndi or a walima. Choose a shape and colour that feel festive without competing with the couple, and check the family’s colours if you can.
No. We do not make the main wedding outfits, so these designs are for guests and family rather than the couple themselves.
Navy with the Iris embroidery or dusty mauve with Rosebud. Both have enough colour to read clearly as not white in photographs, and neither is red. Ivory is best checked with the family first.
We cannot promise a delivery date. Production is 5 to 7 working days once the quote is approved and paid, and shipping is extra and varies by country. Tell us the date of the wedding in your request and ask about timing, and order as early as you can.
