Desert Jasmine layered abaya piece by piece

The layered abaya is closed at a round neck and falls in a soft A-line to the floor. Its sleeves are made of two flared layers, one over the other, which gives it movement without any fuss. The embroidery is jasmine: small cream flowers and gold leaves that stand out clearly against the black. Choose nida, crepe or chiffon, and hand, machine or mixed embroidery, all for the same price, and it comes with a matching scarf.

Which fabric should I choose?

Nida, Crepe or Chiffon, all at the same price. Nida is soft and matte with an easy drape and is the everyday choice. Crepe has a little more weight and a fine grainy texture. Chiffon is light and floaty but slightly sheer, so ask for a lining if you want it less see-through.

Is the embroidery done by hand or by machine?

You choose: hand, machine or mixed, all at the same price. Pick it on the order form, or leave it blank and we suggest what suits your fabric.

Are these photos of the finished abaya?

No. The images are design previews, made to show the cut, colour and embroidery before the piece is sewn. Your abaya is made to the details agreed in your quote, and because it is sewn and embroidered for you, the finished piece can differ slightly from the preview. If you would like a photo of your piece before it is sent, ask us.

Are the layered sleeves heavy?

No. The two layers are cut from the same light fabric as the body, so they move freely. In chiffon they are lightest; in crepe they hang a little more.

Will the colour look exactly like the photo?

Colours can look a little different from the photos. Lighting, the camera and your own screen all change how a shade appears, so the finished piece may be slightly lighter, darker or warmer than it looks here. If the exact shade matters to you, ask us before you pay.
