How to get an unstitched lawn suit stitched online from abroad: the lawn choices to make, the measurements to send, and how the order runs from photos to delivery.

Getting a lawn suit stitched with no tailor nearby

Unstitched lawn suit stitching online works in a simple order: you photograph the pack, choose a design, send your measurements and get a written quote, then post the fabric to us in Pakistan once we have confirmed it. We cut and stitch it to your measurements and ship the finished suit back to your door. Nobody needs to see you in person, because everything is agreed in writing, and that matters more with lawn than with almost any other fabric. It is light, it is often printed with a placement design, and small decisions about lining and ease make a big difference to how it wears.

This guide covers the lawn side of the process. If you live in Britain and want a general walkthrough, our UK step-by-step guide covers the basics. Here we look at what to decide about the fabric itself before you press send.

What makes lawn different to stitch

Lawn is a fine, closely woven cotton, loved because it stays cool in heat. Those same qualities shape the stitching decisions.

  • Sheerness: pale and white lawn can show what is underneath. Decide whether you want a full lining, a half lining at the bodice or none at all. Our lining guide explains the trade-offs.
  • Shrinkage: cotton lawn can shrink slightly in the first wash. Tell us whether your fabric has been washed, so it is taken into account before the design is agreed. The lawn fabric guide has more on how it behaves.
  • Printed placement: many lawn shirts are printed with a front panel, a border and a separate back. The cut has to respect where the print falls, so the kameez length is often set by the printed front rather than by your preference alone.
  • Softness over time: lawn relaxes with wear and washing. A cut that hugs the body on day one may feel looser after a season, so a little ease is usually kinder than a very close cut.

Choosing a design that suits lawn

Lawn is a day fabric first, so the designs that work hardest are the ones you can wear for hours: a straight or gently A-line kameez, elbow or three-quarter sleeves, and trousers that let air move. Browse the cuts, sleeves and trouser styles pages and note the names of the ones you like, because it makes the conversation much quicker.

Embroidered lawn packs change the picture a little. The neckline piece, the sleeve borders and the daaman are designed for particular positions, so your choice of neckline and sleeve length should work with them. If you are unsure, choose “advise me” on the form and we suggest a design that uses the pieces well.

Measurements to send for a lawn suit

Use a soft tape and measure over light clothing. Enter the numbers in centimetres or inches on the quote form; either is fine as long as you say which. Bust, waist and hip, shoulder width, sleeve length and armhole, kameez length and trouser length are the core set, and our size guide shows where each one is taken.

If you own a lawn kameez that already sits the way you like, measure that too. Garment measurements tell us how much ease you are used to, which is especially useful with a soft fabric. The body vs garment measurements page explains how the two sets differ.

How the order runs, step by step

Nothing is posted and nothing is paid until the details are settled.

  • Photos first. Upload a photo of each piece in daylight, plus the label if there is one.
  • Written quote. We confirm the fabric is suitable and that there is enough for your design, then send a quote setting out the design, measurements, total cost, delivery and how to send the fabric.
  • Approval and payment. You approve the quote and pay in full by bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link.
  • You post the suit. You send the fabric to us in Pakistan as agreed. This first shipment is arranged by you unless the quote says otherwise.
  • Stitching. Production takes 5 to 7 working days, counted from the day your fabric reaches us.
  • Delivery. The finished suit is shipped to your address. Delivery and any import duties, taxes and customs or courier fees are already in the quote, so there is nothing to pay at the door.

Ordering from where you live

The process is the same wherever you are, though the quote currency differs: GBP in the UK; USD, EUR or GBP in the USA, Europe and the five Gulf countries; agreed per enquiry elsewhere. Country pages such as Stitching Only in the UK, in the UAE and in Canada add local notes, and the unstitched suit stitching service page sums up the whole route. When you are ready, start a Stitching Only quote.

Common questions

Can I get just the kameez of a lawn suit stitched?

Yes. A single piece is accepted. Tell us which pieces you want made and what to do with the rest, and the quote covers only that work.

Do I need to wash lawn before sending it?

Not necessarily, but tell us either way. Washed and unwashed lawn can behave a little differently, and that is taken into account before the design is agreed in writing.

How long until my stitched lawn suit comes back?

Stitching takes 5 to 7 working days from the day your fabric arrives, once the quote is approved and paid. Shipping time back to you is added on top and depends on your country.
