How ordering works

Sending a Kameez That Fits So We Can Copy the Measurements

Also called naap ka suit

Quick answer

If you have a kameez that fits you well, often called a naap ka suit, we can take the measurements from it instead of you measuring yourself. Choose “Send a garment that fits” on the quote form. We confirm how to send it before you post anything, and you tell us anything you’d like changed from it.

When a sample works best

A sample is the most reliable way to repeat a fit you already like, especially for lengths, the shoulder and the armhole, which people often find hard to measure on themselves. It’s ideal if you’re ordering the same style again or you’re happy with how a particular kameez sits.

Choosing the right garment

  • Pick your best-fitting kameez, not the loosest or oldest. We copy what we’re sent.
  • Same kind of cut: a straight kameez is the best sample for a straight kameez. A flared or fitted style has different ease.
  • Not stretched or shrunk: a garment that has changed shape in the wash gives misleading numbers.
  • Trousers too, if you like: send a pair of trousers or a shalwar whose length and bottom you like.

What a sample can’t tell us

A garment shows its own measurements, not yours. It can’t show where it feels tight, whether you’d like it longer, or how your body has changed since it was made. So add notes such as “same fit but looser at the hips” or “sleeves 1 inch longer”. Some details, such as bust and hip room on a flared style, are clearer with a couple of your body measurements as well; we’ll ask if we need them.

Sending it

Choose “Send a garment that fits” on the stitching quote form. We confirm the sending arrangements with you before you post anything, including how the garment comes back to you. If you’re also sending fabric for Stitching Only, we’ll tell you whether both can travel together.

Prefer to measure the kameez yourself? Our guide to measuring a kameez that fits shows how to lay it flat and take each measurement.

Common questions

Will I get my sample kameez back?

We confirm how the garment is returned to you as part of the sending arrangements, before you post it.

Can you copy the design of the sample too?

We take the measurements from it. If you’d like the same neckline, sleeves or cut, say so and add photos, and we’ll confirm the design with you in writing.
