Buying unstitched suits from Pakistan online when you live abroad
How to buy unstitched Pakistani suits online from the UK, Europe or the USA: where to shop, checking sellers and labels, delivery and import charges, then stitching.
InspirationYour main options
Unstitched suits are one of the easiest Pakistani clothes to buy from abroad, because there is no size to guess. There are a few ways to get them.
- A brand’s international store: some larger labels run separate UK, US or international websites that price in local currency. The range can differ from the Pakistan site.
- A brand’s Pakistan store with international shipping: often the widest choice, usually priced in rupees, with delivery and any import charges handled as the store sets out.
- Stockists and multi-brand retailers: shops in the UK, Europe and the USA, online and on the high street, that carry several Pakistani labels.
- Family and friends: still a common route, especially for gifts and for designs not sold outside Pakistan.
Before you order
A little checking at the start saves disappointment when the parcel arrives.
- Read the piece list and lengths, not just the photos, which show a stitched version. Our guide to reading an unstitched suit label explains what to look for.
- Buy from the brand or a stockist it names. Copies of popular designs, often sold as “replicas”, are widely available and not always clearly described. A price far below the brand’s own is a warning sign.
- Check the returns policy for international orders. Returning a parcel across borders can be slow and costly, so read it before you pay.
- Check the currency and card fees. Your bank may charge for paying in another currency.
- Allow time. International delivery takes longer, and popular designs sell out. Our lawn season guide explains the usual rhythm of releases.
- If you are tall or like long, flared styles, check there is enough fabric; see what to do if your suit is short of fabric.
Delivery, customs and import charges
A parcel coming from Pakistan into the UK, the EU or the USA may be charged import VAT, customs duty and a courier handling fee, depending on the country, the value of the order and how it is shipped. Some international stores collect these at checkout; others leave them for you to pay before the parcel is released. The store’s shipping page usually says which.
Rules and thresholds differ from country to country and can change, so check your own customs authority’s guidance or the retailer’s shipping page rather than a figure from a forum. We cannot advise on your tax position, but it is worth knowing about any charge before you order rather than on the doorstep.
Getting it stitched
It makes no difference where the suit was bought. When it arrives, check every piece against the label, photograph them in daylight and send the photos and your measurements with a Stitching Only quote request. Stitching Only involves two shipping stages: you send the suit to us in Pakistan, and we ship the finished outfit to you. Before you post anything, we confirm with you that the fabric is suitable, how much is needed and how to send it. Our guide to posting your fabric for stitching has packing tips.
Quotes are in GBP in the UK, and in US dollars, euros or pounds, as you choose, in the USA and Europe. Every outfit is shipped from Pakistan, and your written quote includes delivery of the finished outfit to your address and any import duties and taxes, so there is nothing extra to pay when your parcel arrives. If you would rather not post fabric to Pakistan at all, choose Fabric + Stitching and we supply the agreed fabric. See our USA and Europe pages, or the unstitched suit stitching service.
Common questions
Will I pay customs charges on a suit ordered from Pakistan?
You might. Depending on your country, the value and how it is shipped, import VAT, duty or a courier handling fee can be charged, and some stores include these at checkout while others do not. Check the retailer’s shipping page and your own customs authority’s guidance before ordering. Outfits we make for you are different: your quote includes delivery and any import charges.
Can I have a suit stitched if I bought it from a Pakistani website?
Yes. It makes no difference where the suit was bought. Send photos of the pieces and label with your quote request. With Stitching Only you then send the suit to us in Pakistan and we ship the finished outfit to you, but post nothing until we have confirmed that the fabric is suitable, how much is needed and how to send it.
How can I tell if an unstitched suit is genuine?
Buy from the brand’s own store or a stockist the brand lists, and compare the label, packaging and design code with the brand’s listing. A price far below the brand’s own is a common sign of a copy.
