Cool cloth for a hot coast
Lawn is the obvious choice: fine, light and quick to dry. Cambric gives a little more structure for a kurta you will wear to work. Leave a kameez unlined unless the fabric is sheer, keep the fit easy rather than close, and think about elbow or three-quarter sleeves for everyday wear.

Eid on the coast
Eid in Mombasa is a day of visits, so an outfit has to look good and stay fresh from morning prayers to evening. A flared three-piece with delicate embroidery at the hem works well in lawn, and you can ask for a longer kameez or full sleeves.
Kangas and printed cottons from Biashara Street are part of daily life here. If you would like one made into a kurta, send photos and the size first; a single piece is often small, so we check before you post.

How far ahead should I order for Eid?
Start well before the date and put it on the form. Agreeing the design comes first, then 5 to 7 working days of making after payment, then the courier journey to Mombasa, which varies.
Can the dupatta be lighter than the suit?
Yes. Tell us you want a light dupatta, for example in chiffon, and we include it in your quote with photos of the fabric.
