The Gilded Seam: Custom Women’s Stitching

Delivered to Kenya

Made-to-Measure Clothing Delivered to Kenya

Getting a suit made the way you pictured it usually means finding a tailor you trust and then going back and forth until the cut is right. We do it differently. You send us a photo, a sketch or one of our designs plus your measurements, we agree everything in writing, and the outfit is made in Pakistan and couriered to you in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu or anywhere else in Kenya. One piece is enough to start, and we have no shop in Kenya: it all happens online.

  • Made in Pakistan, shipped to Kenya
  • Single pieces welcome
  • Full payment in advance
  • 5 to 7 working days to make, plus shipping
  • Quote currency agreed with you

Quick answers

Ordering from Kenya

The questions customers ask before their first order, answered for your country.

What can I order?

Women’s clothing made to your measurements: shalwar kameez in two or three pieces, kurtas and kameez, co-ords, Eid outfits, casual party wear and Western pieces including dresses, tops and trousers. Start from your own design, a reference picture, or one of ours with your changes.

Can I order just one suit?

Yes. One suit is the minimum, and it is cut to your measurements like any larger order. There are no free samples, so the parcel you receive is the finished outfit. Several pieces can go on one request and be quoted together.

Can you provide the fabric?

Yes. Choose Fabric + Stitching and we source the fabric in Pakistan and make the outfit from it. We send photos and descriptions of what we propose with your quote, and agree it with you in writing before cutting.

Can I send my own fabric?

Yes, as long as it is suitable for the design and there is enough. With Stitching Only you send your fabric from Kenya to us in Pakistan and we courier the finished outfit back, in two separate shipments. Please send photos first: we confirm the fabric, the quantity and the sending arrangements before you post anything.

How do I submit my measurements?

On the quote form, in centimetres or inches, using the same unit for every number. The size guide shows where to measure, and measurement guidance on WhatsApp is there if you would like help.

How are the design and fit agreed?

In writing, before any cutting. We go through the neckline, sleeves, kameez length, trousers, lining and embroidery with you and check your measurements, and the written quote lists all of it for you to read before paying.

Where is the clothing made?

In Pakistan, where each outfit is cut, stitched, finished and checked before it is couriered to Kenya. There is no shop, studio or tailor of ours in Kenya.

How long does it take, and what does shipping cost?

We make the outfit in 5 to 7 working days from the moment your quote is approved and paid in full; for Stitching Only, the count starts when your fabric arrives. Shipping to Kenya takes extra time that varies, and the cost of it is included in your written quote. Mention any deadline when you enquire.

Who handles import charges?

We do. Delivery to your address in Kenya and any import duties, taxes and customs or courier fees are included in your written quote, so you have nothing extra to pay on delivery. If a courier asks you for money, get in touch with us before you pay.

How do I request a quote?

Use the Request a Custom Quote form on this page, where Kenya is filled in for you. Upload your design or pick one of ours, add your town, and choose our fabric or yours. We agree the quote currency with you when you enquire, and you pay in full by bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link after approving the quote.

Two ways to start

Your design, or one of ours

Send a photo of the outfit you want, or customise one of our designs. Either way it is cut to your measurements and shipped to Kenya.

  • 01

    Have something in mind?

Upload a photo, a screenshot or a sketch. We’ll make it as a single piece, cut to your measurements, and agree every detail with you before we start.

  • 02

    Like one of ours?

Pick a design from our collection and change what you want: neckline, sleeves, length or lining. Same care, your version.

  • Single pieces welcome

One outfit is enough. No minimum bundle.

  • Full payment in advance

You pay once you’ve approved your quote, before we cut anything.

  • 5 to 7 working days to make

Production time only. Shipping is added on top.

  • Delivered worldwide

Delivery and import charges are included in your quote.

Two ways to order

Our fabric, or yours

Both are made to your measurements. The minimum order is one suit, and we don’t offer free samples.

  • Fabric + Stitching

We supply the agreed fabric and make your outfit to your measurements. One parcel: the finished outfit shipped to you.

    • Fabric agreed with you before cutting
    • Minimum order one suit
    • No need to send anything
  • Stitching Only

You supply suitable fabric, such as an unstitched suit, and we cut, stitch and finish it.

    • Two shipping stages: your fabric to us in Pakistan, then the outfit to you
    • Confirm suitability and quantity before sending
    • Minimum order one suit

In detail

Fabric, delivery and sizes in Kenya

Long rains, short rains and the coast

Kenya’s weather depends more on altitude than on the calendar. Nairobi sits high, so days are mild and mornings can be cool, especially from June to August; Mombasa and the coast are hot and humid all year; Kisumu, on Lake Victoria, is warm with frequent afternoon storms. The long rains come around March to May and the short rains around October to December.

That makes lawn and cambric good choices for the coast and the lake, while Nairobi suits a lined kameez or a linen co-ord you can wear with a light layer in the cooler months.

What your quote covers

Your outfit is couriered from Pakistan to your door, and your written quote already includes the delivery and any import duties, taxes and customs or courier fees. We have not set out Kenya’s customs rules on this page, because we have no official source for them on file, and we do not give tax advice.

The 5 to 7 working days of making and the courier time are two separate stages. Our page on worldwide delivery shows how they add up.

Giving a courier a Kenyan address

A P.O. Box is not enough for a parcel that comes to your door. Give us the building or house name, the street or road, the estate or neighbourhood, your town and a landmark if it helps, plus a mobile number you answer, because couriers usually call ahead.

For the first enquiry we only need your town. The full address is collected once the order goes ahead. City pages for Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu have more local notes.

Is there a tailor of yours in Nairobi or Mombasa?

No. We have no shop, studio or tailor in Kenya. Orders are arranged online or on WhatsApp, and the outfit is made in Pakistan and couriered to you.

What currency will I pay in?

The quote currency is agreed with you when you enquire, and the written quote is issued in it. You pay in full before making begins, by bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link.

Can you stitch a kitenge or other printed cotton I bought in Kenya?

Often, yes. Printed cottons can make a good kurta, co-ord or dress, but it depends on the fabric and how much you have. Send daylight photos and the length, and we confirm whether it works for your design before you post anything to Pakistan.
