For a damp, cool climate, a lining and full sleeves are the most useful changes. Take our tiered maxi dress: in chiffon it is light and floaty, and with a lining added it becomes warmer and less sheer, ready for an Auckland evening. A higher, closed band collar makes it cosier still.
For windy days, choose straight trousers rather than wide-leg, or leave out the dupatta altogether. For a dressier occasion, keeping the sleeves full and the trousers straight makes an outfit easier to wear under a coat while it keeps its Eid feel.
