Two wardrobes for Canterbury
When a nor’wester blows through in summer, it can be hot and dry, and lawn or cambric with elbow sleeves is the comfortable choice. Come June, frosty mornings call for something heavier: khaddar, karandi or marina, lined, with full sleeves. Velvet is worth asking about for a winter evening or an Eid that lands in the cold months.
A long kameez with an embroidered panel works beautifully in karandi for winter, while a short lawn kurta with slim trousers is an easy summer two-piece. If you cycle to the University of Canterbury, ask for slimmer trousers and a kameez with side slits that let you move.

With Fabric + Stitching, we source warm or light fabric in Pakistan and send photos with your quote. Prefer to use a suit you already have? Send photos first, and once we have confirmed it, you post it and the outfit returns separately.
Measurements go on the quote form in centimetres or inches, and every detail is agreed in writing before cutting.
