Eid al-Adha 2027: the expected date and planning your outfit in the Gulf and the UK
Eid al-Adha 2027 is expected on Sunday 16 or Monday 17 May. What to wear in the Gulf heat or a mild UK spring, and when to order a made-to-measure Eid outfit.

Eid al-Adha 2027 is expected on Sunday 16 May 2027, or on Monday 17 May if the new moon of Dhul Hijjah is seen a day later. The Day of Arafah would then fall on Saturday 15 May. These are early astronomical estimates, and the date is only confirmed once the moon is sighted at the start of Dhul Hijjah.
In the Gulf, most people follow the announcement from Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman set their public holidays around it. In the UK, some mosques follow Saudi Arabia and others a local sighting, so families in the same city can celebrate a day apart. For planning an outfit, assume the earlier date, Sunday 16 May.
Two Eids in one spring
In 2027 the two Eids are close together. Eid al-Fitr is expected around 9 to 11 March, and Eid al-Adha about ten weeks later. If you are already ordering for Eid al-Fitr, it is worth thinking about both at once. You only need to send your measurements once, and you can plan two outfits that work together, for example one lighter and one more formal.

What to wear for a May Eid in the Gulf
By mid May the Gulf is very hot, so the outfit has to be comfortable from the morning prayer to the evening visits. Light, breathable fabric and a loose shape matter more than anything else. Many people keep the heavier embroidery for the evening, when it is cooler and the lights are on.

What to wear for a May Eid in the UK
Mid May in Britain is usually mild, often around the high teens in the day and cool in the evening, with a fair chance of rain. A three-piece suit or a co-ord set in a mid-weight fabric is a good choice, with a light jacket or shawl for the journey to the mosque. Spring colours such as sage, powder blue, lilac and soft peach suit the season.
If you want something you will wear again through the summer, look at the co-ord sets, which split into separate pieces, or the embroidered Pakistani suits for a more traditional look.
When to order for Eid al-Adha 2027
Every outfit is made in Pakistan to your own measurements.
