Buying Pakistani suits in Europe: a made-to-measure guide
Buying made-to-measure Pakistani suits in Europe: EU sizes versus measurements, fabric for north and south, choosing EUR, USD or GBP, and the 2026 duty change.
InspirationOne service, a whole continent
Buying Pakistani suits in Europe made to measure works the same way whether you live in Lisbon or Helsinki: you send your design and measurements, choose a quote in euros, US dollars or pounds sterling, pay in full once you approve it, and the outfit is stitched in Pakistan and shipped to your door. We have no shop, studio or tailor in Europe. What differs from place to place is the climate, the way sizes are labelled and the border rules, and this guide helps with all three.
The Europe page links every country we have a page for, from Germany to Spain, each with its own city guides.
EU sizes are not the same everywhere
Continental sizes look standard but are not: a French 40 is usually cut like a German 38, Italian sizes run differently again, and Pakistani ready-to-wear has its own small, medium and large. A made-to-measure outfit needs none of these. Measure your body in centimetres, which is what most of Europe uses, and enter the numbers on the quote form.
Our size guide shows where to measure, and the trouser measurements page covers rise, waist and length. If you have a kameez that already fits you well, its flat measurements are a good cross-check.
North, south and in between
Europe covers several climates, and the fabric should follow yours:
- Mediterranean summers in Spain, Italy, Greece and southern France reward lawn, linen and relaxed cuts with elbow sleeves.
- Atlantic and central Europe, from Dublin to Frankfurt, means mild summers and grey, damp winters, so cambric and lined cotton for most of the year and warmer weaves from November.
- The Nordic countries need real winter pieces in khaddar, karandi or velvet, worn under a proper coat.
Choosing your quote currency
Customers anywhere in Europe choose whether the quote is written in euros (EUR), US dollars (USD) or pounds sterling (GBP). In the euro area most people pick euros, so nothing needs converting; in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Poland or Switzerland, choose whichever your bank handles most cheaply. Payment is made in full in advance by bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link. Our guide to paying from abroad compares the options.
Import charges and the 2026 duty change
Our outfits come from Pakistan, outside the EU. According to the European Commission, all goods imported into the EU have been subject to VAT since 1 July 2021 (European Commission guidance). From 1 July 2026, a temporary customs duty of 3 euros per tariff line applies to low-value consignments worth up to 150 euros from outside the EU, until 1 July 2028, replacing the old duty exemption for those parcels (European Commission news). A tariff line is a category of goods on the customs declaration, so a parcel of several kurtas counts once.
For you, none of this is a surprise on the doorstep: the written quote includes delivery and any import duties, taxes and customs or courier fees, and the order is shipped delivered duty paid. Countries outside the EU, such as Norway and Switzerland, have their own rules, explained on their country pages. We do not give tax advice.
Picking a route and starting
With Fabric + Stitching, we supply the agreed fabric and only one parcel crosses a border. With Stitching Only, you post suitable fabric to us after we confirm it, and the outfit is shipped back to you; our existing guide to customs and delivery from Europe covers that first parcel. Production takes 5 to 7 working days from approval and full payment, and shipping time is extra.
Summer is wedding season across much of Europe and Eid dates move every year, so start early for either. When you are ready, request a quote or pick your country from the Europe page first.
Common questions
Which currency can I pay in from Europe?
Customers in Europe choose euros, US dollars or pounds sterling, and the written quote is issued in that currency. Payment is in full in advance by bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link.
Does the new EU customs duty on small parcels affect my order?
The EU has applied a temporary customs duty to low-value parcels from outside the EU since 1 July 2026. With us it makes no difference on arrival, because the written quote already includes delivery and any import duties, taxes and customs or courier fees.
Should I give EU sizes or measurements?
Measurements. European sizes vary between countries and brands, while a made-to-measure outfit is cut from your own body measurements in centimetres or inches.
