Sending fabric from Qatar to Pakistan for stitching
How to have your own fabric or unstitched suit stitched when you live in Qatar: what to check first, how the two shipments work, and what your quote covers.
InspirationYes, you can send your own fabric from Qatar
If you live in Qatar and want your own fabric or unstitched suit stitched to measure, our Stitching Only service is the route. You photograph the fabric, we confirm that it suits your design and that there is enough, and only then do you send it to us in Pakistan. We cut, stitch and finish the outfit, and courier it back to your address in Qatar. That means two separate shipments, and it is worth understanding both before you decide.
The Stitching Only page for Qatar summarises the service, and the general unstitched suit stitching page explains it for every country.
When sending fabric makes sense, and when it does not
Sending your fabric is worth it when the fabric itself matters: a suit gifted by your mother, a print you hunted down in a Doha souq, a designer lawn you bought on a trip, or a length of cloth you have been saving. Unstitched suits from any brand, bought anywhere, are welcome once we have checked them.
If all you want is a well-made outfit in a particular colour and fabric type, Fabric + Stitching is usually simpler: we supply the agreed fabric, there is only one shipment, and the making time starts as soon as you approve and pay. The custom stitching overview shows both routes side by side.
Before you post anything: the checks
Send clear daylight photos of every piece through the quote form and let us confirm three things in writing:
- Suitability: whether the fabric works for the design you want. A very sheer fabric may need lining; a stiff jacquard may not suit a gathered sleeve. Our guide to photographing fabric for a quote shows which shots help.
- Quantity: whether there is enough for your measurements and style. Long kameez, wide sleeves and palazzos use more; see how much fabric a three-piece needs.
- Sending arrangements: how and where to send it, which we confirm with your quote. Please do not post anything until then.
Packing it well
Fold each piece neatly, keep the shirt, dupatta, trousers and any neckline or border pieces together, and include the brand label or a note of what each piece is. A sealed plastic bag inside the parcel protects against damp. Put a slip inside with your name and the reference from your quote, so the parcel is matched to your order the moment it arrives.
You arrange and pay for this first shipment yourself, unless your quote says otherwise. Use a service with tracking and keep the receipt. We do not give advice on Qatari export or courier paperwork; your courier will tell you what they need from you.
How the timing works
With Stitching Only, our 5 to 7 working days of making start when two things are true: your quote is approved and paid in full, and your fabric has reached us. So the time your parcel spends travelling to Pakistan is extra, and so is the courier time back to Qatar. If you have a date such as Eid, a wedding or a trip, put it on the form; how long stitching takes explains the stages.
The return leg and what you pay
Your written quote includes delivery of the finished outfit to your address, whether that is in Doha, Al Wakrah or Al Khor, along with any import duties, taxes and courier fees on that parcel. You choose whether the quote is issued in US dollars, euros or pounds, and you pay in full in advance by bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link.
If you cancel a paid Stitching Only order before cutting, nothing is deducted for fabric, because the fabric is yours; payment and cancellations has the full terms.
Make the most of the shipment
Because the parcel to Pakistan is a cost and an effort, many people send two or three suits at once. Each can have its own design, and all can share one set of measurements. If one suit turns out to be short of fabric, we tell you before cutting; our article on what to do when a suit is short explains the usual fixes. Start with photos on the Stitching Only quote form.
Common questions
Can I post my unstitched suit before I get a quote?
Please do not. Send photos first. We confirm the fabric is suitable, that there is enough, and how to send it, and only then should the parcel go to Pakistan.
Who pays for sending the fabric to Pakistan?
You arrange and pay for the first shipment yourself, unless your quote says otherwise. The return delivery of your finished outfit to Qatar is included in your written quote.
Does the making time include the fabric’s journey?
No. The 5 to 7 working days start once your quote is paid in full and your fabric has reached us. The courier time in each direction is separate.
