When the Vardaris blows
In winter a cold northerly wind, the Vardaris, comes down the valley to the bay, and a walk along the seafront can feel bitter. That is the time for a kameez in karandi or khaddar with a full lining and full sleeves, a straight trouser you can wear with boots, and a dupatta large enough to wrap. Order winter pieces in early autumn so they are ready before the cold arrives.
Humid heat by the water
Summer here is hot and often humid, which favours breathable cotton over anything glossy. A loose lawn kurta with elbow sleeves, or a co-ord with wide-leg trousers, stays comfortable on an evening out by the water.
