The Gilded Seam makes women’s clothing to your measurements in Pakistan and ships it to your address in Greece, on the mainland or on an island. There is no shop, studio or tailor of ours in Greece: you order online, agree every detail in writing, and choose between fabric we supply and fabric you send.

What can I order?
Women’s clothing cut to your own measurements: two-piece and three-piece shalwar kameez, kurtas and kameez, co-ords, Eid outfits, casual party wear and Western pieces such as dresses, skirts, tops and trousers. Start from your own design, a reference photo or a written description, or adapt one of our designs. For Greece, many people want something cool and loose for summer and a warmer, lined piece for winter.
Can I order just one suit?
Yes. The minimum order is one suit, and a single piece is a perfectly normal order. There are no free samples, so we send photos and descriptions of the proposed fabric with your quote, and you can ask questions before you approve anything.
Can you provide the fabric?
Yes, as part of Fabric + Stitching: we source the agreed fabric in Pakistan and make the outfit from it, so you have nothing to post from Greece. We never sell fabric on its own. Describe the weight, colour and occasion, say a breathable lawn for August or a heavier weave for a northern winter, and it is confirmed in writing before cutting.
Can I send my own fabric?
Yes, subject to fabric suitability and sufficient quantity. This is Stitching Only: your fabric goes from Greece to us in Pakistan, and the finished outfit comes back to you, so there are two separate shipments. Contact us with photos before you post it, so we can confirm the fabric, the quantity and the sending arrangements. You arrange and pay for that first shipment.
How do I submit my measurements?
On the quote form, in centimetres or inches, using the same unit for every measurement. The size guide shows where to place the tape. A Greek or European size label cannot stand in for measurements, and if you get stuck, choose measurement guidance and we help you on WhatsApp.
How are the design and fit agreed?
Everything is agreed in writing before cutting: neckline, sleeves, kameez length, trouser style, lining, any embroidery, and your measurements. Your quote lists them all, and you approve it before anything is made. Tell us how much room you like through the body, especially for summer wear.
Where is the clothing made?
In Pakistan. Your outfit is cut, stitched and finished there and then shipped to Greece. We have no workshop, shop or tailor in Greece.
How long does it take, and what does shipping cost?
Production takes 5 to 7 working days once your quote is approved and paid in full; for Stitching Only, it starts when your fabric arrives with us. Shipping to Greece takes extra time that varies, and the shipping cost is included in your written quote. Ordering for Eid or a wedding you are attending? Give us the date and we tell you honestly whether it looks achievable.
Who handles import charges?
We do. The written quote includes delivery to your address in Greece and any import duties, taxes and customs or courier fees, so you pay nothing when the parcel arrives. Greece is in the EU: goods from outside the EU are subject to VAT, and a temporary flat EU customs duty applies to low-value parcels, and both are included in what you approve.
How do I request a quote?
Fill in the Request a Custom Quote form; Greece is selected for you. Add your city or island, the garment, how many pieces, Fabric + Stitching or Stitching Only, and photos or the name of one of our designs. We send one written total in euros, US dollars or pounds sterling, as you prefer, and you pay in full by bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link after approving it.

Import charges on parcels to Greece
Because your outfit is made in Pakistan, it enters the EU when it reaches Greece and is cleared through Greek customs, which come under the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE). Every charge that arises at that point is already in the written quote you approve, together with delivery to your door.
According to the European Commission, since 1 July 2021 every good imported into the EU is subject to VAT, which Greeks call ΦΠΑ (FPA); if the seller is not registered for the Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS), it is paid when the parcel is imported. From 1 July 2026 until 1 July 2028 there is also a temporary €3 customs duty for each tariff line on low-value consignments worth up to €150 from outside the EU, and the earlier €150 duty exemption has gone, as the Council of the EU confirmed.
With us, the VAT, that EU duty and any courier fee for clearing the parcel are all included, so there is nothing to hand over on delivery. If a courier asks you for payment, get in touch before paying. We do not give tax advice; see the Europe overview for the wider EU picture.
Sending a suit from Greece for Stitching Only
Most unstitched suits in Greece were brought back from Pakistan or ordered online from Pakistani brands, and some are gifts that have waited in a wardrobe for the right occasion. Our Stitching Only service turns them into finished outfits; the Greek Stitching Only page explains the details.
Photograph each piece in daylight and send the pictures before posting anything. Once we confirm the fabric suits your design, that there is enough of it, and how it should travel, you book a tracked parcel to Pakistan through ELTA, the Greek post, or a courier. Describe the contents and their value honestly on the customs declaration, and keep the tracking number. The finished outfit comes back as a separate shipment with its charges in your quote. If you would rather not post anything, choose Fabric + Stitching.
Addresses, islands and measurements
Greek addresses can be written in Greek or Latin letters. Whichever you use, give us the street and number, the area, the five-digit postcode, the floor if you live in an apartment block, and a mobile number the courier can reach. For the first enquiry, your city or island is enough; the full address is collected only when the order goes ahead. Island addresses, from Crete and Rhodes to the smaller Cyclades, are fine, and the delivery is set out in your quote.
Measure in centimetres, as Greek tape measures do, or in inches if you prefer, using the size guide and measuring yourself without help if nobody is around to hold the tape. A Greek dress size changes from brand to brand, so we never work from one.
Fabric for Greek summers and northern winters
From June to September most of Greece is hot, dry and very sunny, and Athens regularly has heatwaves. That calls for lawn, voile or fine cotton in a loose straight or A-line cut, with light sleeves that keep the sun off your arms without trapping heat. On the islands, the strong summer meltemi wind makes a pinned or shorter dupatta far easier to manage.
Winter is a different story in the north. Thessaloniki sits in the path of cold northerly winds, so a lined kameez in karandi or khaddar with full sleeves is worth having, while Patras and the west are milder but wetter. Measuring guide: how to measure. The whole process: how ordering works.
Is there a shop or tailor of yours in Athens?
No. We have no shop, studio or tailor in Athens or anywhere else in Greece, and nobody measures you in person. Everything is arranged online, made in Pakistan and delivered to your address.
Can you deliver to a Greek island?
Yes. The outfit is shipped to the address you give when your order goes ahead, whether that is on the mainland or an island, and the delivery and any import charges are included in your written quote.
Can you add embroidery to a top I already own?
No. Embroidery, lace and borders are added only to an outfit we are stitching for you, at the level agreed in your quote. We do not embellish ready-made garments or sell embroidery on its own.
