Getting the most from Gul Ahmed

Before you cut
Lawn collections launch in spring and sell quickly; if you are stitching for Eid, ask for your quote as soon as the suit arrives, because it has to reach us in Pakistan before we can start.

Pieces and pairing
Winter khaddar and karandi are heavier: a straight or relaxed cut with a lined kameez wears best.

Finishing
Their “Unstitched to Stitched” ready-to-wear shows how the same prints look made up, which is useful inspiration to screenshot and upload.

Gul Ahmed stitching questions
Can you stitch a Gul Ahmed unstitched suit?
Yes, through our Stitching Only service, for customers in the UK, the USA and Europe. Send photos of the Gul Ahmed pack and its label with the style you want, and we confirm the fabric is suitable and enough for your design and send a written quote. Once it is confirmed, you post the suit to us in Pakistan, and we stitch it to your measurements and ship the finished outfit to you.
Does it matter where I bought my Gul Ahmed suit?
No. A Gul Ahmed pack bought in the UK, the USA, Europe or Pakistan is stitched in exactly the same way. Wherever you are, ask us before you send it: we confirm the fabric and the sending arrangements first, because the suit travels to us in Pakistan and the finished outfit is then shipped to you.
How do I tell if a Gul Ahmed product is unstitched?

Which Gul Ahmed fabrics can you stitch?
All of the fabrics in the range, subject to a check that yours suits the design you want. Gul Ahmed’s unstitched range includes lawn, cotton, cambric, khaddar, karandi, jacquard, velvet and raw silk; each needs a slightly different cut, seam finish or lining, and we confirm it before you send the suit.
Is The Gilded Seam connected to Gul Ahmed?
No. The Gilded Seam is independent: we make made-to-measure women’s clothing in Pakistan for customers in the UK, the USA and Europe. We name Gul Ahmed only because customers send us their unstitched suits to be stitched; we do not sell Gul Ahmed products.
