Stitching tips

Getting the most from Sapphire

  • i.

    Before you cut

Sapphire’s everyday prints look sharp as a straight kurta with cigarette or wide-leg trousers.

  • ii.

    Pieces and pairing

Cotton satin and viscose drape more than lawn; we cut a little more ease through the hips.

  • iii.

    Finishing

Their western separates make good reference for co-ord proportions if you want a fusion look.

  • iv.

    What to send us

Photos of every piece in daylight, the label or listing showing the lengths, your measurements (or a kameez that fits), and screenshots of styles you like.

FAQ

Sapphire stitching questions

Can you stitch a Sapphire unstitched suit?

Yes, through our Stitching Only service, for customers in the UK, the USA and Europe. Send photos of the Sapphire pack and its label with the style you want, and we confirm the fabric is suitable and enough for your design and send a written quote. Once it is confirmed, you post the suit to us in Pakistan, and we stitch it to your measurements and ship the finished outfit to you.

Does it matter where I bought my Sapphire suit?

No. A Sapphire pack bought in the UK, the USA, Europe or Pakistan is stitched in exactly the same way. Wherever you are, ask us before you send it: we confirm the fabric and the sending arrangements first, because the suit travels to us in Pakistan and the finished outfit is then shipped to you.

How do I tell if a Sapphire product is unstitched?

Unstitched suits are listed as “3 Piece - Embroidered Jacquard Suit” or “3 Piece - Printed Lawn Suit”, grouped by collection.

Which Sapphire fabrics can you stitch?

All of the fabrics in the range, subject to a check that yours suits the design you want. Sapphire’s unstitched range includes lawn, jacquard, cotton satin, cotton viscose, linen, raw silk, silk and velvet; each needs a slightly different cut, seam finish or lining, and we confirm it before you send the suit.

Is The Gilded Seam connected to Sapphire?

No. The Gilded Seam is independent: we make made-to-measure women’s clothing in Pakistan for customers in the UK, the USA and Europe. We name Sapphire only because customers send us their unstitched suits to be stitched; we do not sell Sapphire products.
