Ordering from Oman: quote currency, payment and delivery
How ordering from Oman works: why the quote currency is agreed per enquiry, how to pay, what the written quote covers, and how delivery and import charges work.
InspirationOrdering from Oman, in short
Ordering made-to-measure clothing from Oman works in five steps: you send an enquiry with your design and measurements, we agree the details and the quote currency with you, you approve a written quote and pay in full, we make the outfit in Pakistan in 5 to 7 working days, and a courier delivers it to your address in Oman with delivery and any import charges already paid. This article looks at the money and logistics side, which is where Oman differs slightly from other Gulf countries.
For the style side, see Pakistani suits in Muscat and across Oman, and for the country basics, the Oman page.
Why your quote currency is agreed per enquiry
For the UK, quotes are in pounds sterling. For the USA, Europe and five Gulf countries, the customer picks US dollars, euros or pounds from a fixed list. Oman is not one of those five, so for Oman the currency is agreed with you individually when you first get in touch. Once agreed, the written quote is issued in that currency and the total does not change because of it.
In practice, tell us in your first message which currency suits you and how you plan to pay, and we confirm it before the quote is written. Our article on paying from abroad explains how to think about exchange rates and bank fees.
What the written quote covers
Before you pay anything, the quote sets out:
- the agreed design, with any customisation you asked for
- the fabric: ours with Fabric + Stitching, or yours with Stitching Only
- your measurements as submitted
- the total cost, in the currency agreed with you
- delivery to your address in Oman, including any import duties, taxes and courier fees
- the production time and the policies that apply
Paying in full, in advance
Payment is made in full before any garment is made, by bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link. Work starts once the quote is approved and paid, or with Stitching Only, once your fabric has also reached us. Our guide to what your written quote includes explains how to read it before you approve.
If you cancel a paid order before cutting, you are refunded minus the cost of any fabric already bought for it; with Stitching Only, nothing is deducted for fabric. Once cutting has started, there is no refund. Payment and cancellations has the full wording.
Delivery and import charges
Your outfit is couriered from Pakistan to your address, whether that is in Muscat, Sohar or a smaller town. Courier time is added to the making time and varies by destination, so we do not publish a fixed figure; worldwide delivery explains how to plan around it.
We do not quote Oman’s customs rules, and we do not give tax advice. What we can say is our own policy: whatever duties, taxes or courier fees apply to your parcel are included in your written quote, so there is nothing to pay when it arrives. If a courier ever asks you for payment, contact us before paying.
If something is not right
If the outfit does not match the agreed measurements or design because we made a mistake, we correct or remake it without charging for the work. Tell us within seven days of delivery; the postage both ways is paid by you. Please check your parcel soon after it arrives, against the details in your quote.
A first order from Oman
If this is your first order, keep it simple. One outfit is a normal order; see ordering one outfit. Choose one of our designs and change what you like through customisation for Oman, or send your own picture. Measure carefully with the size guide, mention your currency, and start on the Oman quote form.
