The Gilded Seam: Custom Women’s Stitching

Cork · Ireland

Made-to-measure clothing delivered to Cork

Cork is Ireland’s second city, built along the River Lee and up some famously steep hills, with mild, damp weather that rarely turns properly cold. The Gilded Seam makes salwar kameez, kurtas and co-ords to your own measurements in Pakistan and delivers them to your address in Cork. There is no shop or measuring service in the city; everything is agreed online and in writing.

Local notes

Ordering from Cork

Sizes, customs rules and sending fabric from Ireland: ordering from Ireland.

Soft rain and steep hills

Cork’s weather comes in off the Atlantic: mild, often wet and rarely freezing. Cambric and cotton blends suit most of the year, and a lined kameez or a khaddar suit helps from late autumn into spring. If your day includes the climb up St Patrick’s Hill, say so in your notes: side slits with room to stride make the hills easier, and side slits and hemlines explains the options.

Campus, hospital and office days

Students at University College Cork and Munster Technological University, and people working in the city’s hospitals, pharmaceutical plants and tech offices, often want something smart that copes with a long day. A straight kurta with cigarette trousers, or a co-ord in a plain colour, does that well. For Eid or a family gathering, an embroidered cambric suit with a warm shawl works in any season.

Ordering from Cork

If you have an unstitched suit, perhaps ordered online from a Pakistani brand or brought back from a trip, Stitching Only turns it into a finished outfit. Send photos first and wait until we confirm the fabric, the quantity and the arrangements, then post it to Pakistan with An Post or a courier, tracked and with an accurate customs declaration. That is the first of two separate shipping stages; the second brings your finished outfit to Cork. With Fabric + Stitching, we supply the fabric instead.

Ireland is in the EU, so EU import rules apply, and the Ireland page explains them. Your written quote includes delivery and any import charges, so there is nothing extra to pay when your parcel arrives. Ordering from Limerick works the same way. When you are ready, request a quote.

Two ways to order

Our fabric, or yours

Both are made to your measurements in Pakistan. The minimum order is one suit, and we don’t offer free samples.

  • Fabric + Stitching

We supply the agreed fabric and make your outfit to your measurements. One parcel: the finished outfit shipped to you.

    • Fabric agreed with you before cutting
    • Minimum order one suit
    • No need to send anything
  • Stitching Only

You supply suitable fabric, such as an unstitched suit, and we cut, stitch and finish it.

    • Two shipping stages: your fabric to us in Pakistan, then the outfit to you
    • Confirm suitability and quantity before sending
    • Minimum order one suit
