Dressing for the west coast
The west is the wettest part of Ireland, and a walk along the prom at Salthill in a westerly wind soon shows what works. Mid-weight cambric, cotton and linen blends are the everyday choices, with a lined khaddar kameez for winter. Campus days and long summer evenings
The University of Galway and the Atlantic Technological University bring students and staff from all over the world, and so do the city’s hospitals and medical technology companies. A straight kurta with trousers, or a co-ord in a solid colour, takes you from lecture to lab to office. In July, when the Galway International Arts Festival fills the city and the evenings stay light until late, a lawn or cotton set comes into its own.

Most people here buy unstitched suits online from Pakistani brands or bring them back from trips, and Stitching Only turns yours into a finished outfit. Send photos first; once we have confirmed the fabric, the quantity and the arrangements, post it to Pakistan by a tracked service with an accurate customs declaration. That is the first of two separate shipping stages; the second brings your finished outfit to Galway. With Fabric + Stitching, we supply the fabric instead.
Ireland is in the EU, so EU import rules apply when your parcel clears Irish customs, run by Revenue, and the Ireland page explains them. Your quote, in euros, US dollars or pounds sterling, includes delivery and any import duties, taxes and courier fees, so there is nothing extra to pay when your parcel arrives. Is there a shop in Galway where I can be measured?
No. We have no shop, studio or measuring service in Galway or anywhere in Ireland. You measure at home using the size guide, and the design and measurements are agreed with you in writing before cutting.
Where can I get an unstitched suit in Galway?
Most people order online from Pakistani brands or bring suits back from trips. If you have none, choose Fabric + Stitching and we supply the agreed fabric.
