The Gilded Seam: Custom Women’s Stitching

Dublin · Ireland

Made-to-measure clothing delivered to Dublin

Dublin is close to the UK in many of the ways that matter for clothes: the same everyday language, similar weather and even the same style of size labels. If you live here and want a salwar kameez, kurta or co-ord cut to your own measurements, The Gilded Seam makes it in Pakistan and ships it to your address in Dublin. There is no shop or measuring service in the city; everything is agreed online and in writing.

Local notes

Ordering from Dublin

Sizes, customs rules and sending fabric from Ireland: ordering from Ireland.

Dressing for Dublin work and study

For the tech offices of the Docklands or lectures at Trinity, UCD or DCU, a straight kurta with cigarette trousers, or a smart co-ord in a plain colour, looks polished and stays comfortable all day. Western shirts, skirts, dresses and trousers can be made to measure too.

Mild, damp and rarely still

Dublin is mild, damp and windy, rarely hot and rarely freezing. Cambric, linen and cotton blends suit most of the year, a lined kameez or khaddar helps through the winter, and lawn is best saved for the brighter summer weeks. Darker prints forgive a wet walk to the Luas far better than pale plain fabric. Our winter fabrics guide covers the colder months.

Sending your fabric and receiving your outfit

If you already have an unstitched suit, Stitching Only turns it into a finished outfit. Send us photos first and wait until we confirm the fabric, quantity and arrangements, then post it to Pakistan by a tracked international service with an accurate customs declaration. The finished outfit reaches Dublin as a separate shipment.

Irish size labels may look like the UK’s, but Ireland is in the EU, so EU import rules apply to your parcel, and the Ireland page explains them. Your written quote includes delivery and any import duties and taxes, so there is nothing extra to pay when your parcel arrives.

Two ways to order

Our fabric, or yours

Both are made to your measurements in Pakistan. The minimum order is one suit, and we don’t offer free samples.

  • Fabric + Stitching

We supply the agreed fabric and make your outfit to your measurements. One parcel: the finished outfit shipped to you.

    • Fabric agreed with you before cutting
    • Minimum order one suit
    • No need to send anything
  • Stitching Only

You supply suitable fabric, such as an unstitched suit, and we cut, stitch and finish it.

    • Two shipping stages: your fabric to us in Pakistan, then the outfit to you
    • Confirm suitability and quantity before sending
    • Minimum order one suit

FAQ

Dublin questions

Also in Ireland

Is delivery to Dublin handled like delivery within the UK?

No. Your outfit is shipped from Pakistan to Ireland, an EU country, so it clears Irish customs and EU import rules apply. The delivery method is set out in your written quote, which includes the delivery cost and any import charges, so there is nothing extra to pay on arrival.

Can I be measured in person in Dublin?

No. There is no shop, studio or measuring appointment in Ireland. You measure at home in centimetres or inches using the size guide, and the design and measurements are agreed with you in writing before cutting.

Can you stitch a suit I ordered online from a Pakistani brand?

Yes, subject to fabric suitability and sufficient quantity. Once it arrives, send photos of every piece with your quote request, and we confirm the fabric and the sending arrangements before you post anything.
