From late spring to autumn, think light. Lawn is airy and soft, and a smooth weave is easier to brush clean after a dusty, windy day. When winter arrives, the evenings, and especially nights in the desert, can be cold, which is when khaddar and karandi earn their place, with velvet for a dressy gathering.
