Fancy work and embellishment in Sweden
Fancy work is how we describe the embroidery, lace and borders we add to an outfit we are stitching for you. For customers in Sweden it usually means one of two things: a touch of detail that keeps a work kurta quiet but special, or fuller work for Eid and family celebrations. Either way, the work belongs to a garment we are sewing for you from scratch, never to something already finished.

Fancy work for Sweden
Embroidery, lace and borders added to the outfit we stitch for you, from delicate to statement (never bridal).

Choosing the level for Swedish life
Delicate work, at the neckline or the sleeves, sits well in Sweden’s calm, minimal workplaces: a line of embroidery on a plain cambric kurta is noticed without shouting. The detailed level spreads across neckline, cuffs and hem, a good match for Eid morning and family dinners. The statement level goes bolder still, for Eid parties and festivities you join as a guest (bride’s outfits are outside what we make).
Winter matters too. Embroidery on the hem of a long kameez sits under a coat for much of the year, so many customers here put the detail at the neckline, where it shows when the coat comes off. A border on a dupatta is another way to add colour without changing the kameez.
Agreeing it from Sweden
Pick a level on the quote form and attach a picture of work that caught your eye. Your written quote states what the chosen cloth and cut can take, and exactly where the work goes is settled in writing before cutting. Lace sits best on lighter fabrics such as lawn for summer, while heavier winter fabric suits embroidery; the net and lace fabrics guide and using neckline pieces and borders from a pack give ideas.
Fancy work is quoted with the outfit, and delivery plus EU import charges are included; see the Sweden page, our Eid ideas, and custom stitching. Request a quote.
How it works
Fancy work step by step
- 01
Choose the level
On the quote form, pick delicate (neckline or sleeves), detailed (neckline, sleeves and hem), statement (bolder work for Eid and parties), or ask us to advise.
- 02
Show us the look
Add a reference photo of the embroidery, lace or border you like. What is possible on your fabric and design is confirmed in your written quote.
- 03
Agreed before cutting
The placement and amount of embellishment are agreed in writing with the rest of the design, and quoted as part of the outfit.
- 04
Made with the outfit
The work is done in Pakistan as part of stitching your outfit, which is then shipped to you. We do not embroider garments on their own.

FAQ
Fancy work questions
Can you add embroidery to a kurta I already own?
No. Embellishment comes only as part of a new outfit we sew for you; finished clothes and standalone patches are not something we take on.
Will embroidery be ready in time for Eid?
Making, including the embroidery, takes 5 to 7 working days once your quote is paid in full, and shipping to Sweden is added. Put your Eid date on the form and order early.
