Layer rather than bulk up
The heaviest khaddar can be too warm in a heated office, so a mid-weight cambric, linen or light khaddar kameez, lined if the fabric is thin, often works better under a good coat. Slim sleeves slide into a coat without bunching. Keep karandi or marina for the coldest days outdoors; our winter fabrics guide compares them.
In June, when the evenings barely get dark, a light lawn kurta is just right for a midsommar picnic in a city park or out in the archipelago.
Eid in late winter
The Islamic calendar moves about eleven days earlier each year, so for the next few years Eid al-Fitr falls in February or March. In Stockholm that means an Eid outfit that is warm as well as festive: a lined karandi suit, or a jamawar kameez with a warm shawl. Work, study and a Swedish wardrobe
Tech companies from Kista to the city centre, and universities such as KTH, Stockholm University and Karolinska Institutet, bring people to Stockholm from across South Asia. Swedish dressing is minimal and practical, and a plain kurta with straight trousers, or a co-ord in a solid colour, sits right in it.

Can you source the fabric for me?
Yes. Choose Fabric + Stitching and describe the colours and weight you want, whether that is a light lawn for midsummer or a warm karandi for February. Then only your finished outfit has to travel.
Is there anywhere in Stockholm I can be measured?
No. We have no shop, studio or measuring service in Stockholm. You measure at home in centimetres or inches using the size guide, and we agree the numbers with you in writing before anything is cut.
