Life in the UAE moves between fierce outdoor heat and very cool interiors: malls, offices, cars and metro carriages. An abaya that works there is light enough for the walk from the car park and substantial enough not to feel flimsy in an air-conditioned meeting room.

• Breathable fabric and lining: a breathable lining, or none at all on an opaque fabric, is far more comfortable than a synthetic one in summer.
• Loose through the body: an A-line or relaxed straight cut lets air move.
• Sleeve choice: a wider sleeve feels airy outdoors; a cuffed sleeve is tidier for driving and office work.
• Colour: beyond black, soft greys, sand, olive and dusty pastels are popular for daytime and reflect more heat.

Styles you can ask for

No style is fixed in advance: you describe the abaya you want, or send a photo, and the written quote confirms what we will make. Open or closed fronts, a coat-style cut, a wide butterfly-style shape, cuffs, pockets and a matching inner dress are all things to ask about. A matching inner dress is especially useful in the Emirates, where an open abaya is often worn over a coordinated layer for dinners and gatherings. If you want one, describe it on the same request so the two pieces are planned together, in toning or contrasting fabric, and cut from one set of measurements. Mention whether the inner dress should be sleeveless, short-sleeved or long-sleeved, because that changes how the abaya sleeve should be cut.

Fabric from us, or from the souk

Many women in the Emirates buy beautiful fabric locally and want it made up properly. With Stitching Only, you tell us about the fabric first; once we confirm it suits an abaya and there is enough, you send it to us in Pakistan, and production starts when it arrives. With Fabric + Stitching, we supply the fabric agreed in your quote, which is simpler if you have not bought anything yet. Either way, production is 5 to 7 working days from approval and full payment.

Currency, payment and delivery to the UAE

Customers in the UAE choose to be quoted in US dollars, euros or pounds sterling, and pay in full in advance by bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link. The written quote includes delivery to your address and any import duties, taxes and customs or courier fees, so the parcel arrives with nothing more to pay. Courier time is separate from production and varies; our worldwide delivery page explains how shipping is arranged.
