Paying from the UAE: quotes in USD, EUR or GBP

Ordering made-to-measure clothing from the UAE? Why your quote is in US dollars, euros or pounds, how to choose, what the total includes and how payment works.

Your choice of three currencies

When you order from the UAE, your written quote is issued in US dollars, euros or pounds sterling, whichever you choose. We do not quote in dirhams, so pick the currency that is easiest and least costly for you to pay in. The quote is one total for your order, and it already includes delivery to your address and any customs duty, VAT and courier fees in the UAE, so the figure you approve is the figure you pay.

The same three choices apply to customers in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain, and in Europe and the USA. More on ordering from the Emirates is on our UAE page.

How to decide which currency

There is no right answer for everyone. A few practical questions help.

  • Do you already hold one of the three? If your salary, savings or a Wise balance is in dollars, pounds or euros, paying in that currency avoids a conversion.
  • What does your bank charge? Some UAE bank cards add a fee or use a less favourable rate for foreign-currency payments. Check before you choose.
  • Which figures feel familiar? The dirham is pegged to the US dollar, so many people in the UAE find dollar amounts easy to compare with prices they know. Choose whatever you can judge comfortably.
  • Are you paying from abroad? If you hold a UK account, for example, pounds may be simplest.

Prices on product pages

Our published designs are priced in pounds sterling. When you browse a design such as the tiered maxi dress, the page shows an approximate price in your own currency, worked out from a daily exchange rate and rounded, with the sterling price beside it. That figure is a guide only. Your actual quote is issued in dollars, euros or pounds, and if you choose dollars or euros for a sterling-priced design, the amount is worked out for your order.

Custom work, whether your own design or Stitching Only with your fabric, has no published price. Each order is quoted individually in writing.

What your quote includes

Before you pay, the written quote shows the agreed design, fabric, measurements, any customisation, the total cost, the delivery arrangements, the making time and the policies that apply. Delivery to your UAE address and any import charges are inside the total. Our guide to what your written quote includes explains how to check each part, and if a courier ever asks you for money on delivery, contact us before paying anything.

How payment works

Payment is in full and in advance, before anything is made, by bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link. Once payment is received, we make the outfit in 5 to 7 working days; with Stitching Only, the making starts when your fabric reaches us.

If you cancel a paid order before cutting, you are refunded minus the cost of any fabric already bought for your order; with Stitching Only nothing is deducted for fabric. Once cutting has started there is no refund. Our page on payment and cancellations sets this out in full, and paying from abroad compares the currencies in more general terms.

Getting a quote

Choose the currency on the UAE quote form, along with your design, measurements and whether you want Fabric + Stitching for the UAE or to send your own fabric. If you change your mind about the currency before you pay, tell us and we reissue the quote.

If you are ordering several pieces, for example before Eid or for a new work wardrobe, put them on one request. They are quoted together in the same currency, with one delivery and one payment, which is simpler to track than several small orders.

Common questions

Can I pay in UAE dirhams?

No. Quotes for the UAE are issued in US dollars, euros or pounds sterling, whichever you choose, and you pay in that currency.

Will I have to pay customs or VAT when the parcel arrives?

No. Your written quote includes delivery to your address and any customs duty, VAT and courier fees, so nothing is due on arrival. If a courier asks for payment, contact us first.

Which payment methods can I use from the UAE?

Bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link. Payment is made in full once you have approved your written quote, before anything is made.
