How ordering from Australia works

To order made-to-measure Pakistani suits in Australia, you send us your design, your measurements and your city, approve a written quote, pay in full, and the finished outfit is stitched in Pakistan and couriered to your address. There is no shop, studio or tailor of ours in Australia; it is an online service, and every detail is confirmed in writing before cutting.

Distance is the main reason people order this way. Sydney and Melbourne have Pakistani boutiques, but in Hobart, Darwin or Townsville the choice is thin, and ready-to-wear sizing rarely suits everyone. The Australia page summarises the service.

AU sizes are a starting point, not the answer

Australian dress sizes run in even numbers much like UK sizes, but no two labels cut them the same way, and Pakistani ready-to-wear uses its own small, medium and large. Made to measure skips the guesswork: you give your body measurements and we work from them.

The key ones are bust, waist, hip, shoulder width, armhole, sleeve length, kameez length and trouser length. Our guide to body versus garment measurements explains why we ask for your body, not a garment, unless you are matching a favourite kameez. Measure in centimetres, which most Australians use, or inches if you prefer, and keep to one unit.

Fabric for a big, varied country

Australia runs from tropical to cool temperate, so the right fabric depends on where you are. In Darwin, Cairns or Townsville, light lawn and fine cotton are worn all year, and a loose cut with elbow sleeves helps in humid heat. In Sydney and Brisbane, lawn covers most of the year with something heavier for July evenings. Melbourne, Canberra and Hobart winters are properly cold, which is where khaddar, karandi or linen blends with a lining earn their place.

Remember that the seasons are reversed from Pakistan’s. Winter collections from Pakistani brands appear around October and November, just as Australian summer begins, so many people buy them and keep them until June, or ask us to source a fabric that suits the month they will wear it.

Choosing your route and your design

  • Your own design: send a photo, sketch or written description through the custom design page for Australia.
  • Our design, customised: pick from our designs and change the neckline, sleeves, length, trousers, lining or embroidery level.
  • Fabric + Stitching: we supply the agreed fabric and only the finished outfit travels.
  • Stitching Only: you send suitable fabric to us in Pakistan after we confirm it, and the outfit comes back as a second shipment. The stitching page for Australia explains the steps.
  • An abaya: made to measure with either fabric route, quoted individually.

Currency, payment and import charges

For Australia, the quote currency is agreed with you per enquiry; say which you would like when you first get in touch. Once you approve the quote, pay in full in advance by bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link.

Your quote includes delivery to your door and any import duties, taxes and customs or courier fees, and the parcel is shipped delivered duty paid, so there is nothing to pay on arrival. We do not set out Australian import rules here; if a courier ever asks you for money, contact us before paying.

Timing and getting started

Production takes 5 to 7 working days once the quote is approved and paid, or once your fabric arrives for Stitching Only. Shipping to Australia adds its own time, which varies, so leave room before an Eid or wedding. Our article on Eid outfits in the Southern Hemisphere covers timing around the Australian seasons.

Whether you are in Sydney, Melbourne or Perth, the process is the same. Request a quote for Australia with your city, garment, design images and notes, and we reply with any questions before the written quote.

Common questions

Do I need to know my Australian dress size?

No. A made-to-measure outfit is cut from your body measurements, so a size is only useful as a rough guide. The size guide shows where to measure bust, waist, hip, shoulders, sleeves and lengths.

What currency will I pay in from Australia?

The quote currency for Australia is agreed with you when you enquire. Payment is then made in full in advance by bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link.

Can I send a winter suit bought in Pakistan to be stitched in time for June?

Yes, if the fabric is suitable and there is enough of it. Send daylight photos first, we confirm everything before you post it, and production starts once it reaches us and the quote is paid.
