Ordering made-to-measure Pakistani suits in Canada

How to order made-to-measure Pakistani suits in Canada: what to send, measuring in inches or centimetres, our fabric or yours, the quote currency and what it covers.

Pakistani suits in Canada, cut to your measurements

If you live in Canada and want Pakistani suits that actually fit, ordering made to measure online works in four steps: tell us what you want, send your measurements, approve a written quote, and wait for the finished outfit to be couriered to your door. Everything is cut and stitched in Pakistan; we have no shop, studio or tailor anywhere in Canada, so the whole order is arranged online and in writing.

That suits a country this size. A shopper in Brampton may have several boutiques nearby, while someone in Regina or Victoria may have none, and even in the Greater Toronto Area a ready-made suit rarely fits the shoulders, bust and length all at once. This guide walks through each decision, so your first enquiry has everything it needs. The Canada page has the short version.

Decide what you want made

Start with the garment and the look, not the size. We make two-piece and three-piece shalwar kameez, kurtas and kameez, co-ords, Eid outfits, casual party wear, abayas and Western pieces such as dresses, skirts and trousers. One suit is enough to order, and a single piece such as a kurta is welcome too. There are three ways to describe the design:

  • Your own idea. A sketch, a screenshot or a few lines of description all work. The custom design page for Canada explains what to include, and our guide to briefing a tailor with screenshots shows how to point out the details you care about.
  • One of our designs, changed. Browse our designs and ask for a different neckline, sleeve, kameez length, trouser style, lining or embroidery level. The customisation page lists what can be changed.
  • A suit you already own, made up. If an unstitched suit is sitting in a cupboard, we can stitch it (more on that below).

Measuring in a country that uses both units

Canada is officially metric, yet most tape measures sold here show both scales and many people still think of their waist in inches. Either unit is fine on the quote form; what matters is staying with one unit for every measurement and noting which it is. Our guide to measuring in inches or centimetres covers the common slips, such as reading the wrong side of the tape.

Shop sizes in Canada mostly follow American numbering, and they vary from brand to brand. A made-to-measure kameez does not need a size at all: it needs your bust, waist, hip, shoulder, sleeve and length measurements, plus a word on how loose you like things. The size guide shows where each measurement is taken. If you have a kameez that already fits well, measuring it flat is a useful cross-check.

Our fabric or yours

With Fabric + Stitching, we supply the agreed fabric and make the outfit, so only one parcel travels: the finished garment, to you. The Fabric + Stitching page for Canada explains how the fabric is suggested and agreed with your quote.

With Stitching Only, you send suitable fabric, such as an unstitched suit, to us in Pakistan, and the finished outfit comes back as a second, separate shipment. Send daylight photos first; we confirm the fabric is suitable, that there is enough of it and how to send it before you post anything. The stitching page for Canada and our article on sending fabric from Canada help you choose between the two.

Currency, payment and what the quote covers

For Canada, the quote currency is agreed with you when you enquire, so mention your preference in your first message. Once you approve the written quote, payment is made in full in advance, by bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link.

The written quote lists the agreed design, fabric, measurements and any customisation, together with the total, delivery to your address and any import duties, taxes and customs or courier fees. Your order is shipped delivered duty paid, so nothing is left to pay when the courier arrives. We do not describe Canadian import rules here, and we do not give tax advice; the point is simply that the figure you approve is the figure you pay.

How long it takes, and when to start

Production takes 5 to 7 working days, counted from the moment the quote is approved and paid in full. For Stitching Only, it starts when your fabric reaches us. Shipping time to Canada is extra and varies, so if you are dressing for a fixed date, give it in your enquiry and start early. Our first order checklist lists what to gather.

Customers order the same way from Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver or anywhere between. When you are ready, request a quote for Canada with your city, the garment, a design image or two and any notes.

Common questions

Do you have a shop or tailor in Canada?

No. Every outfit is cut, stitched and finished in Pakistan and couriered to your address in Canada. Measurements, design and the quote are all handled online and agreed in writing before anything is cut.

Which currency will my quote be in?

For Canada the quote currency is agreed with you when you enquire. Tell us your preference in your first message, and the written quote is issued once that is settled.

Will I pay anything when the parcel arrives in Canada?

No. The written quote includes delivery to your address and any import duties, taxes and customs or courier fees, and the order is shipped delivered duty paid. If a courier ever asks for payment, contact us before paying.
