Fabric from Gerrard India Bazaar, or from home

The stretch of Gerrard Street East known as Gerrard India Bazaar sells dress material and Pakistani brand packs, and plenty of Torontonians order lawn online or carry it back from Lahore or Karachi in a suitcase. Wherever yours came from, photograph each piece by a window rather than under shop lights, and note the lengths if you know them.

With Stitching Only that fabric travels to Pakistan and returns as a finished outfit in a second shipment. Send us the photos first: we confirm the fabric is suitable, that there is enough for your design, and how to send it, before you book anything.

Dressing for the TTC, the PATH and a muggy July

Toronto summers off the lake can be sticky, and winters mean slush on the streetcar platform and an overheated office once you arrive. A lawn or cambric kurta with cigarette trousers copes with both seasons under a coat. If you spend the day moving through the PATH between downtown towers, three-quarter sleeves stay out of the way and a mid-thigh length works with jeans at the weekend.

Can I try the outfit on somewhere in Toronto before it is finished?

No. We have no shop or studio in Toronto. Your measurements are taken at home with a soft tape, checked with you, and every design detail is agreed in writing before cutting, so the outfit is made to those numbers.

Is anything due when the courier reaches my door?

No. Your written quote already includes delivery and any import duties, taxes and customs or courier fees. If a courier asks you for money, contact us before paying.
