Ordering made-to-measure Pakistani suits in France: French sizes and measurements, outfits for Paris rain and southern heat, euros and what the quote covers.

Ordering from France, start to finish

To order made-to-measure Pakistani suits in France, you describe the outfit, send your measurements, pick a quote in euros, US dollars or pounds sterling, and pay once you approve it; the garment is then cut and stitched in Pakistan and shipped to you with import charges already included. We have no boutique, studio or tailor in France, so the order is handled online and in writing.

Pakistani clothing is easy enough to find in parts of Paris, but much harder in Rennes, Grenoble or Montpellier, and the sizing in shops rarely suits everyone. The France page has a summary and links to city guides.

French sizes and the measurements we use

French sizes are numbered differently from German and Italian ones, a French 40 being roughly a German 38, and they vary by brand. We do not use sizes at all: give your body measurements in centimetres on the quote form and we cut from those. The body versus garment measurements guide explains the difference, and the common measuring mistakes article will save you a re-measure.

Paris drizzle, Mediterranean sun

France has two very different wardrobes. Paris, Lille and Strasbourg are grey and damp for much of the year, so a cambric or lined cotton kurta with straight trousers and a trench coat is the everyday uniform, with warmer weaves from November. Marseille, Nice and Montpellier have long, dry, hot summers that suit lawn, linen and relaxed cuts with elbow sleeves.

If you live in one and travel to the other, a few pieces in breathable cotton with a lighter lining cover both.

A French eye for simple lines

Many customers in France want Pakistani detailing in a cleaner silhouette: a plain straight kameez with a single embroidered neckline, a co-ord in a solid colour, or a Western dress made to measure. We make Western pieces too, and our guide to made-to-measure dresses and skirts explains what to specify. The shirt dress is one of our designs in that spirit.

If you have a picture of exactly the look you want, the custom design page for France explains how to send it. Mark the details that matter, such as a neckline or sleeve shape, so they are not lost.

Weddings, Eid and evening wear

For a summer wedding or a dinner, embroidery, lace or borders can be added to the outfit we stitch: delicate at the neckline or sleeves, detailed with the hem as well, or statement work for Eid and parties. What is possible on your fabric is confirmed in the written quote; the fancy work page for France explains the levels. Our dinner-party outfits guide has ideas for guests and hosts alike.

Paying in euros and the import question

Most customers in France choose euros, so nothing needs converting, although dollars and pounds are available. Payment is made in full in advance by bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link. France is in the EU, where imported goods are subject to VAT (European Commission); with us, your written quote includes delivery and any import duties, taxes and customs or courier fees, so nothing is collected on the doorstep.

Production takes 5 to 7 working days once the quote is approved and paid, or from your fabric reaching us for Stitching Only. Shipping is extra and varies. Customers in Paris, Lyon and Marseille all order the same way; request a quote for France when you are ready.

Common questions

Do you have a boutique or tailor in Paris?

No. Outfits are made in Pakistan and shipped to France. Your design, measurements and quote are all agreed online, in writing, before anything is cut.

Can I order a Western dress rather than a shalwar kameez from France?

Yes. We make Western pieces such as dresses, skirts, tops and trousers to your measurements, as well as shalwar kameez, kurtas and co-ords.

Will import VAT be collected when my parcel arrives in France?

No. The written quote includes delivery and any import duties, taxes and customs or courier fees, and the order is shipped delivered duty paid.
