Sun, heat and the mistral
From June to September, Marseille is lawn and voile weather: a loose straight or A-line kameez, elbow or three-quarter sleeves, and a wide shalwar or palazzo trousers that let air move. The mistral, the cold, dry wind that funnels down the Rhône valley, can whip a long chiffon dupatta about, so a shorter stole or a cotton dupatta you can pin is easier on windy days; dupatta sizes and styles explains the choices. Winters are mild and bright, and a cambric or linen kameez covers most days.
Everyday Marseille
Between Aix-Marseille Université, the port and the offices around La Joliette, everyday dressing here tends to be relaxed. A cotton kurta over jeans, a linen co-ord or a simple lawn two-piece fits the city, and something lightly embroidered is ready for Eid or a family dinner. Ordering from Marseille
Choose Fabric + Stitching and nothing needs posting. For Stitching Only, send daylight photos first and wait until we confirm the fabric, the quantity and the sending arrangements; then post it to Pakistan by a tracked service, with La Poste or a courier, and an accurate customs declaration. The finished outfit comes to Marseille as a separate shipment. Your written quote is issued in euros, US dollars or pounds, as you choose, and includes delivery and any import charges, such as TVA and the EU’s flat duty on low-value parcels, so there is nothing extra to pay when your parcel arrives. Do you have a shop in Marseille?
No. There is no shop, atelier or measuring service in Marseille. Everything is ordered online, made in Pakistan to the measurements you send and delivered to your address.
Will a dupatta stay put when the mistral blows?
A shorter, lighter stole or a cotton dupatta pinned at the shoulder behaves far better than long chiffon on windy days. Mention it on the quote form, and the dupatta is agreed in writing with the rest of the design.
