Fancy work and embellishment in France
In French terms, fancy work means broderie, dentelle and bordures: embroidery, lace and borders added to an outfit we are stitching for you. France has its own long lace tradition, from Calais and Caudry in the north, and a taste for restraint that shapes how much embellishment people want. We offer three levels, agreed with you in writing and made in Pakistan as part of your outfit.
- Made in Pakistan, shipped to France

Fancy work for France
Embroidery, lace and borders added to the outfit we stitch for you, from delicate to statement (never bridal).

How much is enough?
Delicate work sits at the neckline or the sleeves. It suits French workplaces well, adding interest to a plain kurta without breaking the pared-back look many offices prefer. Detailed work runs along the neckline, sleeves and hem, the usual choice for Eid morning or a family lunch. Statement work is bolder, for Eid evenings, a soirée or a party; it is not for outfits worn by a bride, which we do not make. Unsure? Ask us to advise, and include a reference photo.
Lace, heat and winter Eids
Lace at the hem or sleeves keeps a lawn kameez light for a summer evening in the south; our page on lace at the hem shows one approach. Embroidery reads richly on linen or velvet, which suits an Eid that falls in a cold month in Paris or Strasbourg. A simple border along a dupatta is an easy way to dress up an otherwise quiet outfit. What is possible on your fabric and design is confirmed in your written quote.
Part of the outfit, never on its own
Embellishment is placed, agreed and priced together with the rest of the design, on our fabric or yours. We do not embroider ready-made garments. Delivery to France, TVA and EU duty sit in the same written quote; see the France page, or start from one of our designs and change the embroidery level through customisation.
How it works
Fancy work step by step

The placement and amount of embellishment are agreed in writing with the rest of the design, and quoted as part of the outfit.

FAQ
Fancy work questions
Can you add lace to a blouse I bought in Paris?
No. Embroidery, lace and borders are only added to an outfit we are stitching for you, not to garments on their own.
Which level suits the office?
Delicate, at the neckline or the sleeves. It lifts a plain kurta while staying discreet.
