Made to measure in the tropics

To buy made-to-measure Pakistani suits in Malaysia or Singapore, you send us your design and measurements, agree the quote currency and approve a written quote, then pay in full; the outfit is stitched in Pakistan and couriered to your door with delivery and import charges included. We have no shop, studio or tailor in either country, so everything happens online and in writing.

The climate makes the decisions simpler than in most places: it is warm and humid all year, with heavy rain in the monsoon months and cold air-conditioning indoors. The Malaysia and Singapore pages give the local overview.

Fabrics for year-round humidity

  • Lawn and fine cotton absorb moisture and dry quickly; they are the everyday choice. Our lawn guide covers sheerness and shrinkage.
  • Cambric is crisper and more opaque, good for office kurtas that must look neat at five o’clock.
  • Viscose feels cool but can cling when you are damp; read our viscose and rayon guide before choosing it.
  • Chiffon and georgette are often polyester, so keep them for dupattas and evenings rather than all-day wear.
  • Light linings only: a fine cotton half lining gives coverage without a second full layer.

Hari Raya and open houses

Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Eid al-Fitr, is a major public holiday in both countries, and the open-house tradition means a long day, sometimes several, of visiting and hosting. Outfits need to look festive yet stay comfortable from morning prayers to evening, through warm streets and chilly air-conditioned living rooms.

A lawn or cotton silk kameez with delicate embroidery at the neckline and sleeves, a chiffon dupatta and straight trousers covers most of it. Many families coordinate colours for Raya; if you want sisters or friends in a shared palette, our guide to coordinated outfits explains how to plan it in one enquiry. The Eid page has more ideas.

Modest cuts that stay cool

Full sleeves and longer lengths are easy to wear in the heat when the fabric is fine and the cut has some ease. Ask for a slightly relaxed body, full sleeves in lawn, and a kameez long enough for your comfort, and the outfit will move air rather than trap it. If you prefer an abaya, we make those to measure too, with our fabric or yours, quoted individually; see custom abayas.

If you have a design from another tradition in mind, send a photo with your enquiry; we confirm what is possible before quoting, and the custom design page for Singapore explains how.

Currency, payment and import charges

For Malaysia and Singapore, the quote currency is agreed with you per enquiry, so say what you would prefer when you get in touch. Payment is made in full in advance by bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link. Your written quote includes delivery to your address and any import duties, taxes and customs or courier fees, so the parcel arrives delivered duty paid. We do not describe local import rules; we include the charges.

Timing and how to start

Production takes 5 to 7 working days from approval and full payment; shipping is extra and varies. If you are sending an unstitched suit from Malaysia, the stitching page for Malaysia explains the two shipping stages, and production starts when your fabric reaches us. For Raya, order well before the fasting month begins.

Customers in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Singapore all order the same way. Request a quote for Malaysia or for Singapore with your garment, design images and notes.
