Delivered to Malaysia
Made-to-Measure Clothing Delivered to Malaysia
In Malaysia the heat and humidity barely change from one month to the next, so the clothes that get worn are the ones that breathe. The Gilded Seam cuts and stitches women’s shalwar kameez, kurtas, co-ords and Western pieces to your measurements in Pakistan and ships them to you, whether you live in the Klang Valley, on Penang island or down in Johor Bahru. There is no shop or tailor of ours anywhere in Malaysia: you order online, every detail is agreed in writing, and a single outfit is a perfectly normal order.
- Made in Pakistan, shipped to Malaysia
- Single pieces welcome
- Full payment in advance
- 5 to 7 working days to make, plus shipping
- Quote currency agreed with you
InspirationQuick answers
Ordering from Malaysia
The questions customers ask before their first order, answered for your country.
What can I order?
Women’s clothing made to your measurements: two-piece and three-piece shalwar kameez, kurtas and kameez, co-ords, Hari Raya and Eid outfits, casual party wear, and Western pieces such as dresses, skirts, tops and trousers. Send your own design or a reference photo, or start from one of our designs and change it.
Can I order just one suit?
Yes. One suit is enough, and it is cut to your own measurements like any larger order. We do not send free samples, so the first thing you receive is your finished outfit. Ordering for sisters or friends before Hari Raya? Put every piece on one request and we quote them together.
Can you provide the fabric?
Yes. With Fabric + Stitching we source the fabric in Pakistan and make the outfit from it, so nothing has to leave Malaysia. Your quote comes with photos and descriptions of the fabric we suggest, and for Malaysian weather that usually means breathable choices such as lawn or cambric.
Can I send my own fabric?
Yes, if it suits the design and there is enough of it. With Stitching Only you post your fabric from Malaysia to us in Pakistan, and the finished outfit travels back as a second, separate shipment. Send us daylight photos before you post anything, so we can confirm the fabric, the quantity and how to send it.
How do I submit my measurements?
Type them into the quote form in centimetres or inches, keeping to one unit throughout. The size guide shows where to place the tape for each measurement, and a kameez that already fits you well is a useful guide to send with them.
How are the design and fit agreed?
In writing, before any cutting. We go through the neckline, sleeves, lengths, trousers, lining and any embroidery with you and check your measurements, and the written quote lists everything agreed so you can read it through before paying.
Where is the clothing made?
In Pakistan. Each outfit is cut, stitched, finished and checked there, then shipped to your address in Malaysia. We have no shop, studio or tailor in Malaysia.
How long does it take, and what does shipping cost?
Making takes 5 to 7 working days, counted from when you approve and pay your quote in full, or with Stitching Only, from when your fabric reaches us. Shipping to Malaysia is added after that and varies, and its cost is already in your written quote. If you need the outfit for Hari Raya or a family event, give us the date.
Who handles import charges?
We do. Your written quote includes delivery to your address in Malaysia and any import duties, taxes and customs or courier fees, so there is nothing more to pay when the parcel arrives. If anyone asks you for payment on delivery, contact us before paying.
How do I request a quote?
Use the Request a Custom Quote form on this page, where Malaysia is already selected. Add your city, the garment, your design or one of ours, and whether you want our fabric or yours. The quote currency is agreed with you when you enquire, and once you approve the written quote you pay in full in advance by bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link.

In detail
Fabric, delivery and sizes in Malaysia
Clothes for a climate that stays hot all year
With warm, sticky days and heavy afternoon downpours in every season, most Malaysian wardrobes run on light fabrics. Lawn is the easy choice for everyday kurtas, and cambric has a little more body for work. A thin cotton lining stops a pale kameez looking sheer without trapping heat, and our guide on whether a kameez needs lining helps you decide.
The other half of the story is indoors. Offices, malls and trains are often cold with air conditioning, so three-quarter or full sleeves and a dupatta you can wrap round your shoulders are worth considering even in this heat. Our hot-weather outfit ideas go into more detail.
Hari Raya, Deepavali and open houses
Hari Raya Aidilfitri open houses can mean a whole day of visiting, sitting and eating in one outfit, so comfort matters as much as colour. A flared lawn kameez with light embroidery at the hem handles a long day well, and our designs are a good place to start looking. For Deepavali gatherings or a wedding you are attending as a guest, our fancy work page explains the embroidery, lace and border levels we can add.
Festive dates fill up for everyone, so plan back from the day: agreeing the design, 5 to 7 working days of making, then shipping. Our Eid outfit timeline works just as well for Hari Raya.
Sending fabric from Malaysia
Plenty of customers already have a suit waiting, bought on Jalan Masjid India in Kuala Lumpur, in Penang’s Little India or on a trip to Pakistan. With Stitching Only we make it up for you, but only after we have seen photos and confirmed that the fabric is suitable and long enough for your design. You then book the courier from Malaysia yourself, describe the contents honestly on the customs form and keep the tracking number. Our guide to posting your fabric for stitching covers packing.
Where we deliver in Malaysia
We ship to addresses across Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia on Borneo. For the first enquiry we only need your city; the full address, including the unit number for a condominium and the five-digit postcode, is taken once the order goes ahead. We have city pages for Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, George Town and Johor Bahru.

FAQ
More questions from Malaysia
Measuring guide: how to measure. The whole process: how ordering works.
Do you have a tailor in Kuala Lumpur or Penang?
No. There is no shop, studio or tailor of ours in Malaysia. Everything is arranged online, and each outfit is made in Pakistan and shipped to your address.
Can you make an outfit longer and more covered?
Yes. Ask for a calf or floor-length kameez, full sleeves, a higher neckline such as a round neck or band collar, and a lining, and we agree those details with you in writing before cutting.
