Ramadan outfits in Saudi Arabia: a made-to-measure plan
Ramadan outfits for women in Saudi Arabia: easy clothes for home, something finer for iftar invitations, pieces that sit under an abaya, and when to order them.
InspirationWhat a Ramadan wardrobe needs in the Kingdom
Ramadan outfits in Saudi Arabia have three jobs. There are the days and long evenings at home, when comfort is everything. There are iftar invitations, when you want to look a little more put together. And there are the late outings, to family, to the mall or to the market, usually under an abaya. A small made-to-measure capsule covers all three, and ordering it well before the month starts leaves you free when the Eid rush begins.
We stitch each piece to your measurements in Pakistan and courier it to your home. There is no shop of ours in the Kingdom, so everything is agreed online. The Saudi Arabia page explains how.
At home: soft, loose and easy to wash
For the hours at home, a relaxed kurta or a kaftan-style kameez with a shalwar or soft trousers is hard to beat. Choose lawn or a soft cotton that copes with frequent washing, and ask for a little extra ease through the body so nothing pulls when you sit on the floor or move around the kitchen.
Pockets are worth asking for. A side-seam pocket holds a phone or keys and disappears into the seam; our guide to adding pockets shows the options.
Mid and deeper shades hide the marks of a long day better than pale ones, and a print forgives the creases of hours spent sitting. If relatives tend to drop in unannounced, keep one kameez with full sleeves and a higher neckline close at hand; our guide to modest sleeves, necklines and lengths shows how those choices combine.
Iftar invitations: one step up
When you are a guest at someone else’s iftar, a three-piece suit with a little embroidery at the neckline feels right without being formal. Mid-tones and deeper colours suit evening light, and a dupatta in chiffon or organza adds polish. Our article on dawat and dinner-party outfits has more ideas for guests and hosts.
- Cut: a straight or gently A-line kameez at knee or calf length.
- Sleeves: full or three-quarter, finished cleanly at the cuff.
- Embroidery: delicate work at the neckline or sleeves, chosen on the quote form.
- Trousers: straight trousers or a shalwar that sits comfortably for a long meal.
Night outings under an abaya
Streets and malls come alive after iftar, and much of that time is spent in an abaya. Underneath, the kameez should be smooth and not too voluminous, with sleeves narrow enough to slide into the abaya sleeve. A calf-length hem stops the kameez peeking out unevenly. If you would like an abaya made to match, see our custom abaya service.
Ordering a Ramadan capsule
A practical capsule might be two or three home outfits, one or two for iftar invitations, and something you can wear on into Eid. List them all on one request with one set of measurements, and we quote them together. If you already have unstitched suits, send photos and we confirm which suit which design before you post them.
Timing matters more than usual, because the end of Ramadan brings the busiest weeks of the year for stitching and for couriers. Each order takes 5 to 7 working days to make after approval and full payment, and courier time to Saudi Arabia is added. Our existing guide to Ramadan outfits covers comfort and modesty in general terms.
Starting your request
Use the quote form for Saudi Arabia, add pictures or notes for each outfit, and say which are for home, which for guests and which for wearing out. You receive one written total in the currency you choose, US dollars, euros or pounds sterling, with delivery and any import charges included. Payment is in full and in advance. Our Riyadh and Madinah pages add city detail.
Common questions
How many outfits do I need for Ramadan?
It depends on your plans. Many people find two or three easy home outfits and one or two for invitations are enough, with one piece that can carry on into Eid.
Can I order before I know the exact Ramadan dates?
Yes. Ordering early is easier for everyone. Tell us roughly when you need the outfits and we plan the making time once the quote is approved and paid.
Can you make an abaya and an outfit together?
Yes. Abayas are made to measure as well, and they can be quoted together with the outfits you wear underneath.
