Fabric for the tropics
Lawn and light cambric are the answer for nearly every month here. Ask for an unlined kameez where the fabric allows it, a looser cut through the body, and sleeves at elbow or three-quarter length. Light colours stay cooler in the sun. Heavy winter fabrics have little use in Darwin, so with Fabric + Stitching we suggest light, washable fabric and show you photos with your quote.
For dry-season evenings out, such as the Mindil Beach Sunset Market, a short lawn kurta with cigarette trousers is cool and easy. For Eid, a lightly embroidered lawn kameez is more comfortable than anything heavy.

Everything is done online, so distance from the southern cities makes no difference. Measure at home, add your design or one of ours, and send the quote form. Your quote includes delivery to Darwin and any import charges.

Which fabric is coolest for the wet season?
Lawn, which is fine and breathable. Cambric is a little crisper but still light. We confirm what we can source for your design in your quote.
Do you have a tailor in Darwin?
No. We have no shop, studio or tailor in the Northern Territory. Your outfit is made in Pakistan and couriered to you.
