Dressing for the sea wind and loska
Finns call the wet, half-melted snow of early winter loska, and in Helsinki it arrives with a raw wind from the water. Hems that brush the ground soak it up, so many customers here ask for a knee-length kameez and cigarette or straight trousers that tuck into boots. A lining turns a cambric kameez into something you can wear from November onwards, and khaddar or marina trousers help on a long wait for the tram. The University of Helsinki and the many international employers in the capital mean plenty of women here dress for a lecture hall or an open-plan office. Finnish workwear is understated, so a plain kurta in a solid colour, with full sleeves and a hem just above the knee, fits right in. In June and July, when the evenings stay light, a lawn suit is ideal for a picnic on the islands or a stroll along the waterfront.

Can I be measured somewhere in Helsinki?
No. We have no shop, studio or measuring service in Helsinki. You measure yourself at home with the size guide, in centimetres or inches, and we confirm the numbers with you in writing before cutting.
Will I have to pay anything when the parcel reaches Helsinki?
No. Your written quote already includes delivery to your address and any import duties, taxes and customs or courier fees. If a carrier asks for payment, contact us before paying.
