Eindhoven calls itself the City of Light, grew up around electronics and now fills its calendar with Dutch Design Week in October and the GLOW light festival in November. It is a city of engineers, designers and students, and many of them have firm ideas about what they want to wear. The Gilded Seam turns those ideas into kurtas, co-ords and shalwar kameez cut to your measurements in Pakistan, then ships them to your Eindhoven address. Nothing happens in person: there is no shop, naaister or measuring service of ours in Brabant.

Bring the idea, we make it
If you have sketched something, saved a screenshot or can describe exactly what you want, use custom design. Tell us the garment, neckline, sleeves, length and trouser style, and we reply with what we can make from it before anything is agreed. A kurta with an asymmetric hem or a co-ord in a colour you cannot find in shops is exactly the kind of request we like to see. If you would rather start from something already drawn, browse our designs and adapt one.
Campus, Strijp-S and the bike
Between TU Eindhoven, the High Tech Campus and the converted factory halls of Strijp-S, everyday clothes here are relaxed and practical. Almost everyone cycles, so side slits that let you get on the bike and trousers that stay clear of the chain matter. Brabant weather is mild and damp, so a mid-weight cambric works most of the year, with lawn for summer and a lined kameez for winter.
Payment, delivery and import charges
Your written quote can be in euros, US dollars or pounds sterling, and it includes delivery to Eindhoven and any btw, customs duty and courier fees, so there is nothing to pay when the parcel arrives. Eindhoven questions
Can I send you a drawing instead of a photo?
Yes. A photo of a hand drawing works well. Add notes on the fabric and fit you imagine, and we confirm every detail with you in writing before cutting.
Can I be measured in Eindhoven?
No. We have nobody measuring in Eindhoven or anywhere else in the Netherlands. You measure at home with the size guide and send the numbers in centimetres or inches.
