Ordering an Eid outfit in Oman, or sending one to family there: colours and cuts for Eid visits, how to get measurements for a gift, and when to start your order.

Eid outfits for Oman, two ways

Most Eid orders for Oman fall into two groups: women in Muscat, Salalah or Nizwa ordering an outfit for themselves, and relatives abroad sending an Eid outfit to a mother, sister or friend in Oman. Both work the same way with us: the outfit is made to the wearer’s measurements in Pakistan and couriered to her address in Oman, with delivery and any import charges included in the written quote. The difference is who measures, who pays and how much of a surprise you want it to be.

The Oman page covers ordering basics, and our Eid page collects colour and style ideas.

What to wear for Eid visits

Eid in Oman is a round of family visits, shared meals and greetings over several days, often starting early after the morning prayer. An outfit that looks festive but is comfortable to sit in for hours is the goal. A few ideas:

  • A three-piece in a rich colour such as emerald, plum, deep teal or gold, with delicate or detailed embroidery at the neckline and sleeves.
  • A long A-line kameez with straight trousers and a chiffon dupatta, elegant and easy for sitting on majlis cushions.
  • Lighter pieces for the second and third days, when the visits are more relaxed: a lawn suit with a bright dupatta, or a co-ord.
  • Coordinated colours with sisters or friends, if you like matching photos; see coordinated outfits.

Colour and embellishment

Jewel tones and soft pastels both suit Eid. If you are unsure, choose a colour you already wear often and make the outfit festive through the dupatta or embroidery. Our guide to choosing colours that suit you is a gentle place to start.

On the quote form you can pick delicate, detailed or statement work, the last being bolder work for Eid and parties. We confirm in the written quote what is possible on the chosen fabric and design, so send a close-up photo of anything specific. Fancy work for Oman explains the options.

Sending an Eid outfit as a gift

If you live in the UK, Europe or elsewhere and want to send an outfit to someone in Oman, you can place the order and pay for it. Two things must come from the wearer’s side: her own measurements and her delivery address in Oman. The quote is made out to you, as the person ordering, and delivery to her door is included.

If you want to keep it a surprise, the most reliable approach is to measure a kameez she already wears and loves, following our guide to using a kameez that fits as a template. Guessing from a dress size is risky. If she already owns an unstitched suit she has not had sewn, our article on gifting an unstitched suit explains another route.

Fabric for the season Eid falls in

Both Eids move about eleven days earlier each year, so the weather changes over time. For an Eid in Oman’s hot months, choose lawn or cambric and keep the festive feel in the dupatta. For an Eid in the cool season, cotton silk, marina or karandi look richer and keep you warm at evening gatherings, especially in the interior around Nizwa. Our Eid ul-Adha ideas suggest outfits for a practical, busy day.

When to start

Plan backwards from the first morning of Eid. Agree the design and measurements, approve the quote and pay in full; we then make the outfit in 5 to 7 working days, and courier time to Oman follows. With Stitching Only, add the time for the fabric to reach us. Because the exact Eid date depends on the moon, plan for the earliest likely day.

For Oman, the quote currency is agreed with you when you enquire. Upload your inspiration on the Oman design quote form, or read about custom design for Oman first, and include the wearer’s town, such as Muscat.

Common questions

Can I pay for an Eid outfit that is delivered to my mother in Oman?

Yes. You place and pay for the order, and we need her own measurements and her address in Oman. Delivery there is included in the quote.

Will my relative have to pay anything when the parcel arrives?

No. The written quote includes delivery and any import duties, taxes and courier fees, so there is nothing to pay on arrival.

Can I order matching Eid outfits for my sisters?

Yes, as long as we have each person’s measurements. Each outfit can share a design and colour or have its own.
