Fancy work and embellishment in Norway
Fancy work means the embroidery, lace and borders we add to an outfit as we stitch it. Customers in Norway tend to ask for it for three kinds of day: Eid, family celebrations where they are guests, and 17 May, when the whole country dresses up. It is always part of an outfit we are making; we do not embroider garments on their own.

Which level for which day
Delicate work, at the neckline or sleeves, suits a smart kurta for the office or a Constitution Day lunch. Detailed work, at the neckline, sleeves and hem, is a natural choice for Eid morning. Statement work is bolder, for Eid parties and celebrations as a guest; we do not make outfits for brides. If you are unsure, choose “advise me” on the quote form and tell us the occasion.
In a Norwegian winter the coat stays on outdoors for months, so think about where the work will show. A neckline or a front panel is seen as soon as the coat comes off, while a heavily worked hem may spend the day hidden. A bordered dupatta adds colour over a plain winter kameez.
Agreed in writing
Send a reference photo of the embroidery, lace or border you like. What is possible on your chosen fabric and design is confirmed in your written quote, and placement is agreed before cutting. Our Eid occasion page and dupatta finishing ideas offer inspiration.

Show us the look
Add a reference photo of the embroidery, lace or border you like. What is possible on your fabric and design is confirmed in your written quote.

Agreed before cutting
The placement and amount of embellishment are agreed in writing with the rest of the design, and quoted as part of the outfit.

Made with the outfit
The work is done in Pakistan as part of stitching your outfit, which is then shipped to you. We do not embroider garments on their own.
Single pieces welcome
One outfit is enough. No minimum bundle.

Cities in Norway
Can you embroider a dupatta I already have?
No. Embroidery, lace and borders are only added to an outfit we are stitching for you, not to finished garments or pieces on their own.
Does fancy work add to the making time?
Making, including any embroidery, takes 5 to 7 working days once your quote is paid in full. Shipping to Norway is added after that, so order early for Eid or 17 May.
