Made-to-measure clothing delivered to Trondheim
Trondheim, on the Trondheimsfjord in central Norway, is a university city with proper winters: cold, snowy and dark by mid-afternoon in December. The Gilded Seam makes shalwar kameez, kurtas and co-ords to your own measurements in Pakistan and ships them to your address in Trondheim. There is no shop or measuring service in the city; everything is agreed online and in writing.

Ordering from Trondheim
Sizes, customs rules and sending fabric from Norway: ordering from Norway.
Dressing for a Trøndelag winter
Winters here are colder and snowier than on the west coast, with icy pavements and only a few hours of daylight at the darkest time of year. This is weather for khaddar, karandi or marina with a full lining, trousers with room for a wool layer and sleeves that slide under a thick coat without bunching. Our winter fabrics guide compares the options, and does my kameez need lining explains when a lining helps.
Campus, hospital and research days
NTNU, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, St Olav’s Hospital and the research institute SINTEF bring students, doctors and researchers to Trondheim from across the world. In warm lecture halls and offices, a mid-weight kurta with straight trousers is comfortable and still layers under a coat. For Eid al-Fitr, in late winter for the next few years, a lined velvet or jamawar suit with a warm shawl is festive and practical.
Ordering from Trondheim
Unstitched suits are usually bought online or brought back from trips, and Stitching Only turns yours into a finished outfit. Before posting anything, send photos and wait until we confirm the fabric, the quantity and the arrangements; then send it to Pakistan by a tracked service with an accurate customs declaration. That is the first of two separate shipping stages, and the finished outfit follows as the second. With Fabric + Stitching, nothing leaves Norway at all.
Your quote, in euros, US dollars or pounds sterling, includes delivery and any import charges, so there is nothing extra to pay when your parcel arrives; the Norway page explains the rules, and Bergen orders the same way. Request a quote when you are ready.
Two ways to order
Our fabric, or yours
Both are made to your measurements in Pakistan. The minimum order is one suit, and we don’t offer free samples.
Fabric + Stitching
We supply the agreed fabric and make your outfit to your measurements. One parcel: the finished outfit shipped to you.
- Fabric agreed with you before cutting
- Minimum order one suit
- No need to send anything
Stitching Only
You supply suitable fabric, such as an unstitched suit, and we cut, stitch and finish it.
- Two shipping stages: your fabric to us in Pakistan, then the outfit to you
- Confirm suitability and quantity before sending
- Minimum order one suit
Is there anywhere in Trondheim I can be measured?
No. We have no shop, studio or measuring service in Trondheim or anywhere in Norway. You measure at home using the size guide, and we agree the numbers with you in writing before anything is cut.
Do EU import rules apply to a parcel to Trondheim?
No. Norway is not in the EU, so Norwegian rules apply. Tolletaten says import VAT applies to goods from abroad, that clothing is one of the few goods subject to customs duty and that carriers normally charge a handling fee; your quote includes all of these, so there is nothing extra to pay on arrival.
