Made for an Oslo winter
Oslo winters are cold, dark and often snowy. This is where khaddar, karandi and marina come into their own: they hold warmth, drape well and take a lining. A fully lined kameez, trousers with room for a thermal layer and a thick shawl turn a suit into proper winter wear, and our winter fabrics guide explains the choices.
Summers are short, light and pleasantly mild, so one or two lawn suits for the long evenings are plenty.
Bought in Grønland, stitched in Pakistan
Grønland’s South Asian shops are an easy place to find a winter suit, or you may have one from a trip to Lahore or Karachi. Either can be made up with Stitching Only. Send photos first and wait until we confirm the fabric, the quantity and the arrangements, then post it to Pakistan by a tracked service with an accurate customs declaration.
Your finished outfit is shipped to you separately, as a second stage. If you would rather not post anything, choose Fabric + Stitching and we supply the fabric.
Norway is outside the EU
Norway is not in the EU, so EU import rules do not apply to your parcel; Norwegian rules do. The Norway page explains what Norwegian Customs, Tolletaten, says about import VAT, customs duty on clothing and carrier handling fees, and your quote includes all of them, along with delivery, so there is nothing extra to pay when your parcel arrives. Is khaddar warm enough for an Oslo winter?
Indoors, yes, especially lined. Outdoors you will still want a proper coat, so ask for sleeves that slide under it without bunching.
Can you make a winter suit if I have no fabric yet?
Yes. Choose Fabric + Stitching, say you want something warm such as khaddar or karandi, and tell us the colours you like. Then nothing needs posting from Norway at all.
Is there anywhere in Oslo I can be measured?
No. We have no shop, studio or measuring service in Oslo or anywhere in Norway. You measure at home in centimetres or inches using the size guide, and we agree the numbers with you in writing before anything is cut.
