Italy has a long tradition of embroidery and lace, so you may already have a clear idea of the finish you want. Our fancy work adds embroidery, lace or borders to an outfit we are making for you, at one of three levels, and it is quoted together with the outfit. We do not embroider garments you already own.

Three levels to choose from
Delicate work sits at the neckline or on the sleeves and suits everyday kurtas and summer suits. Detailed work runs along the neckline, sleeves and hem, a good level for Eid morning or a family dinner. Statement work is bolder, for Eid and parties, and works best on a fabric with some body, such as linen, karandi or velvet. A border along the hem, like a daman with lace, is another way to finish an outfit.
Northern winters, southern summers
In Milan, Turin or Bergamo, a winter Eid or an evening event indoors can carry statement work on a karandi or velvet base. In Naples or Palermo, where many gatherings are outdoors in the heat, delicate work on lawn, or a lace trim at the sleeve, keeps an outfit light. Wherever you are, send a reference photo of what you like; what is possible on your fabric and design is confirmed in your written quote.
Agreed before cutting
The placement and amount of embellishment are written into your quote alongside the design and measurements, and the whole outfit is paid for in full before we start. A fine line of embroidery along a hem and a panel of work down the front of a long kameez are two very different results, so a photo helps; if you start from one of our designs, its embroidery can be customised to a different level.

On the quote form, pick delicate (neckline or sleeves), detailed (neckline, sleeves and hem), statement (bolder work for Eid and parties), or ask us to advise.

Show us the look
Add a reference photo of the embroidery, lace or border you like. What is possible on your fabric and design is confirmed in your written quote.

Agreed before cutting
The placement and amount of embellishment are agreed in writing with the rest of the design, and quoted as part of the outfit.

Made with the outfit
The work is done in Pakistan as part of stitching your outfit, which is then shipped to you. We do not embroider garments on their own.

Fancy work questions
Can you add embroidery to a kameez I bought in Italy?
That is not something we do. Embroidery, lace and borders are part of making an outfit for you, so they are planned with the design and listed in the same written quote.
Is statement work too much for a summer wedding as a guest?
It depends on the fabric and the setting. On a light lawn, delicate or detailed work is usually more comfortable in the heat; statement work suits a cooler evening or an indoor event.
