Scirocco and a light wardrobe
When the scirocco blows in from North Africa, Palermo can feel like an oven: hot, dusty and often humid. Pure cotton lawn and voile are the sensible choice then, in a loose kameez with side slits for airflow, elbow sleeves, and a wide shalwar or palazzo trousers. Pick lighter colours and delicate rather than dense embroidery for summer, and keep a cambric or linen suit for the mild winter, when a light shawl is usually enough.
Santa Rosalia, Eid and evenings out
In July the Festino di Santa Rosalia, for the city’s patron saint, fills the Cassaro with crowds and a procession late into the night. Do you deliver to other towns in Sicily?
Yes. The outfit goes to the address you give us when the order goes ahead, anywhere in Sicily, and the delivery method is set out in your quote.
Which fabric copes with the scirocco?
The lightest pure cotton: voile or a fine lawn, cut with room to move. Synthetics trap heat, so skip polyester linings and ask for cotton where a lining is needed.
