Dressing for the Guadalquivir heat
In July and August, Seville’s heat can be relentless, and synthetic fabric makes it worse. Choose the lightest pure cotton lawn or voile, a loose A-line or straight kameez with room through the body, elbow or three-quarter sleeves, and a wide shalwar or palazzo trousers that let air move. Spring, study and the rest of the year
Spring is Seville at its best, with Semana Santa and the Feria bringing the whole city outdoors, and a cotton or cambric co-ord is comfortable for long days out. Winters are mild and sunny, though mornings can be chilly, so a cambric or linen kameez with a shawl is usually enough. If you study at the University of Seville or work in the centre, a knee-length kurta over straight trousers suits both, and custom stitching covers Western dresses, skirts and tops too.

With Fabric + Stitching we supply the fabric; with Stitching Only you send your own. Send daylight photos first and post nothing until we have confirmed the fabric, the quantity and the arrangements; the fabric then goes to Pakistan by a tracked service, and the finished outfit comes to Seville as a separate shipment. Your written quote, in euros, US dollars or pounds as you choose, sets out production time and includes delivery and any import charges, so there is nothing extra to pay when your parcel arrives. Do you have a shop or modista in Seville?
No. There is no shop, studio or modista in Seville, and nobody measures you in person. Everything is ordered online, made in Pakistan to your measurements and delivered to your address.
What is the coolest outfit for a Seville summer?
A loose kameez in pure cotton lawn or voile with elbow sleeves, worn with a wide shalwar or palazzo trousers. Avoid synthetic linings; if the fabric is sheer, a cotton lining keeps it breathable.
