Frost, fog and a winter suit that works
From December to February, mornings in Valladolid often start below freezing, and fog can sit over the river valley for days. This is where khaddar, karandi and marina are worth having: a longer kameez with full sleeves, lined where the weave is open, straight trousers that tuck under a coat, and a warm shawl in place of a chiffon dupatta. Valladolid questions
Is khaddar warm enough for a Valladolid winter?
Under a coat, yes. A khaddar or karandi kameez with full sleeves, lined where the weave is loose, is much warmer than lawn or cambric, and on the coldest days you can layer a thermal underneath.
Can I give you my usual Spanish size?
Please send measurements instead. A Spanish size label varies between brands and says nothing about sleeve or kameez length, so the size guide lists every measurement we need, in centimetres or inches.
