Winter fabrics for a Pennine city
Bradford sits in a valley on the edge of the Pennines, and its winters are cold, damp and often windy. Pakistani brands release khaddar, karandi and marina collections every autumn, and they come into their own here. Boutique suits are sometimes sold as a folded set with no label listing the lengths. Measure each piece yourself and add the lengths and daylight photos to the quote form. Khaddar can shrink a little on its first wash, so tell us whether the fabric has already been washed.

If you wear a thin thermal under your clothes in winter, measure over it, or mention it on the form, so the kameez is not tight in January. FAQ
Bradford questions
Can you stitch khaddar and karandi suits?
Yes, subject to fabric suitability and sufficient quantity. Heavier winter fabrics are cut and stitched to measure like any other suit; tell us if you want a lining or full sleeves and it goes into the written quote.
Should I measure over a thermal layer?
If you plan to wear one underneath, yes, or at least mention it on the form. A little extra ease through the bust, waist and sleeves can then be agreed in writing so the kameez sits comfortably over it.
